hey folks i have an opportunity to get a 99 TL navigation system for a good price...does anyone know if it will work on my 01 CL? what all is needed because the guy has the screen and the unit that mounts in the trunk...but from what the pics look like its not a DVD type navi its got somekinda disk thing that goes in. i dunno im dumb to the world when it comes to this, so if anyone can let me know that would be great.

Hey there- '99 TL Navi owner here. Our NAVI is a hard disk- with an iinput card (like a disc) for regional coverage only (New England, Southeast, etc). On the 200-2003 TL/CL Navi systems- it's DVD ROM with nationwide coverage - faster access, and getting the lastest (2005) updates gives you current streets, rural roads.. you name it.

SO- you probably got the '99 system for a good deal(screen, HD unit). Finding a used DVD unit- probably around $500 . DVD unit is PLUG n' PLAY for the '99- nothing crazy about switching these out.

NOW- how easy is it to convert your CL to NAVI? Search for threads- takes a lot of work.
