'98 CL - door speakers - HELP

hello from a 'new to acura guy'. i purchased a 98 CL 2.3 and discovered i was getting NO sound whatsoever coming from the door speakers. the car does NOT have a bose system. the rear deck and front tweeters are all working fine.

i have removed the head unit (am/fm/cd) and replaced it with another factory radio exactly like the original. STILL NO SOUND coming from the door speakers despite the fact everything else is working fine.

I removed the drivers side door speaker cover and the door speaker itself for an inspection. Everything looks fine. So, my next move is to use a volt meter to see if I'm getting juice through the speaker wire at the connection to the speaker. I have yet to perform this test but I'm at a total loss as to why I'm getting NO SOUND from BOTH door speakers.

Two radios that seem to work perfectly...all speakers working except the door speakers...nothing noteworthy so far as the wiring harness at the radio. Everything appears normal. I spoke with the original owner who said he never noticed whether the door speakers were working.

What could possibly be the reason for getting NO sound from either door speaker??? Is there a relay gone bad? Fuse? Two bad radio head units??? HELP!!!

Sounds like either a wiring issue or the speakers are toast. I would definitely try the volt meter and see if you're getting juice to the speaker wires in the doors. If so, replace the speakers, also the stock head unit is garbage, I have an older pioneer for sale already wired for the 1st gen, and it is still in the dash kit for the 1st gen. If it turns out to be the radio, hit me up.

I'm actually having a similar issue with my car right now. When i bought it, there was already a garbage stock radio in the car so i replaced it. I found out the fuse was blown so i replaced it. I got the radio to come back on but there's no sound from the speakers. Any suggestions?
