I have a pair of Eclipse SC8264 component speakers, the only thing is the 6.5's won't fit in my doors, I think I need to cut about 1/2 to 3/4 inch in diameter out of the sheet metal, what is the easiest way to make them fit? The speaker mounting depth is about 3 inches, is that too deep for my doors?

Go to Tweeter. They will measure the surrounding area and make a pair of wood spacers for about 25.

BS, your faith in tweeter is interesting. That's not something to expect from every install shop.

dems, I think that 3 inches is too deep. You have 1-1/8 between the back of the door panel and the front of the door metal skin. That leaves 1-7/8 into the door. I think that will hit the window track, and I think that those Eclipse drivers are very wide in the frame like the old Diamonds or my avincar 6.5s, and you may be right that they just don't fit.

You guys still have that hack shop on Upper State, or is Lombards the only place left? (Mission Stereo was good before they bailed on car entirely).
