My friend said he knows someone that said he was able to play 80 songs on a cd through his car radio. Is this possible? he said he burned it as data. Doesn't the stereo need to be an mp3 player to play it? the 04' TL has a DVD audio which I do not know how it works yet but says it plays DVD audio DVD's? What is that about? Thanks

 

well if you have short tracks, you can fit upto 99 tracks on the average CD-R if i am not mistaken.

 

800 MegaBytes. No way around that. If you have 800 ONE MB songs, they will all fit, but each will about one second long. At the other extreme, only one song, that lasts for a couple of hours. It's a fixed limit. Perhaps your friend was refering to the new dual layer DVDs that hold aroung 8 GigaBytes of data? I have no idea if the TL can recognize these. As to your original question, it doesn't matter if you burn the disc as DATA. MUSIC, or HOT PORN, 800MB is the limit, and no burn setting will get around that. Sorry, get an IPOD!

 

Hmmm--that's really interesting. I believe it. If the HU can play DVDs besides just DVD-Audio, there's no reason to suspect that it couldn't read the same sort of audio streams on either DVD-Rs or CD-Rs. Some sort of MPEG-1 audio stream is used in MPEG-2 video streams--but I'm not sure. (I've burned short movies onto CDRs and they played fine on some dvd players).

I have read your post and the DiscWelder Chrome is TOO expensive to do such a thing. I think there is other ways to make it w/o spending 3g's. My mother has a 04 TL and all I wanted to know is how do you make a DVD Audio DVD to play in it? Also in regards to the 80 songs on a cd I understand you can fit 80 but they will be short. How can you fit 80 songs that are roughly 3min. a piece w/o using an ipod? Thanks

like somebody said earlier... a cd is about 700megs. a typical song is about 4 - 7megs depending on the bit rate, so there is plenty of room for 80 songs to fit on a cd. you dont anything special other than a blank CDR and radio that will read mp3 cd's of course.
