8" subs?

has anyone tried to put 8" subs to replace the stock 6x9? i see the trunk spring just barely passes under the magnet now. is there any way to get different springs? just a though. i really don't want to lose a lot of my trunk space.

You'll loose the mids and highs that come out of the back, which would probably sound strange

i wasn't going to have rear speakers if i would get my 10"/11"(focal) sub anyway. i like to have my highs and mids coming from the front.

I can't imagine that would sound very good. Most subs require sealed enclosures to be efficient. You would probably have to build boxes underneath the rear deck - then your springs definitely would not fit. I know you don't want to lose a lot of trunk space - but you might want to consider getting one ten that doesn't require a lot of air space and build a small box for it, or maybe even try to build a custom box in one fo the side panels in the trunk.

Actually, if you have a good set of Comps in the front, there's no need for the rear speakers. The rear is only there for FILL.
