I bought some Kicker K693s (6X9), but they won't fit, because of the large magnets, they hit the bars in the trunk. I bought them on the internet, so returning them isn't an answer. How has everyone else gotten their 6X9s to fit?

 

you have to put a spacer around the speaker to raise it up a little.

Do the factory grills fit after this lift?

 

I just installed i think the same or very similar speakers in my accord. I was only able to put two out of the four screws back in but the stock grill seems like its holding it down in place. I guess I got lucky cause I have no issues with the mounting dimensions.

 

yeah, you should have room. If not, pull the trunk torsion bars, and put in gas shocks.

 

they should still fit the same since the diameter of the speaker is not increasing, you are just lifting it up a little so there is more room underneath...the grill should fit on top just the same.
