4 Channel Amp

4 Channel Amp
I am going to keep the stock headunit. I'm planning to replace all 8 speakers in my 2005 TSX with Alpines and add a 4-channel amp. But I would have to send power to six locations (front door left, front door right, rear door left, rear door right, rear deck left and rear deck right). How am I going to power all six locations with just a 4-channel amp? Note, I do not plan on adding a sub.

If you bought diamond speakers they have a componite set that has a 3rd channel on the crossover for a fill speaker that you could put in the rear door. Also note the rear 6x9s on the tsx are subs, there is no mids/highs that flow from them

The 6 x 9s are only lows? Hmmm....but if I take two channels of my 4-ch amp to power those 6x9s, I could make them into full-range speakers, right? Or will the stock headunit not allow me to send all frequencies to the 6 x 9s?
As for using diamond speakers, wouldn't I by sending one channel (one channel is 50 watts RMS on my amp) to power two sets of speakers now? In essence, each would only receive 25 watts RMS now.

As for six channels off a four channel amp, do the math, it doesn't work - not without compromises. You have options, like run the rear door and rear deck speakers off one channel (L and R) - yes, you'd be splitting total wattage but chances are you amp puts more power into a low ohm load. Why you would want to do that is a separate issue, but it could be done. Or you could just drop the rear door speakers altogether. It's more of an issue of what you are looking for.

Probably for Volume, and the common philosophy of more = better, which is not always the case

if you want all the speakers to work, you'd probably need a passive crossover, you could get the kind that have the rear-fill, and have the lows on the 6X9 and the full range on the rear doors.
i'm not too familiar with the stock TSX stereo, does it have a 6 channel amp? or does it have a crossover? you could try power the stock wiring with your amp, if it only has 4 speaker outs. i'm not really sure what it'd do, but maybe all the speakers would work

Ok, so I get the impression that I should just use a 4-ch amp to power the fronts with component speakers and the rear deck all in full range.
I see an Infinity Reference 6-ch amp for around $326 (which is cheaper than some 4-chanel amps). I could use this to power everything. But it seems like using the rear door speakers causes imaging problems.
