Post 3-12" subs and 2000watt amp?

I wanted to know how this would sound, I have 3 12" kicker solobaric (squared ones). My local audio shop told me that I should get a 2000 watt (pheonex gold ms series) 4 channel amp for my mids, highs and lows. They told me I would get a 1000 watts for my mids and highs and 1000 watts for my lows. Would this sound any good? This amp will cost me $1,800, is that an ok price? Please help?

dayam, thats a lot of power...
i have the xtant 3 channel amp. it gives 2x150 and 1x300 to 2 10in JL's and that seems at times more than enough ..
but hey you might want to boom harder !!!
the amp alone is bank, and you will have to buy everything else too ... they might be trying to get you to buy stuff.

If you want good prices ask Ron-StreetEffectz. Got my two Phoenix Gold amps and Alumapro sub from him and I saved hundreds off the MSRP that shops sell stuff for. Ron can get whatever you want and I guarantee he'll beat their price. And I really don't think you need an $1800 amp - they're bullsh!tt!ing you.

I would run a dedicated sub amp that can confortably run at low ohms maybe 250watts to each sub and a clean 4 channel amp for mids and tweets. 1000 watts for mids and tweets is crazy. Plenty of good sub amps out there the new JL audio, Orion, how about kicker since you have their subs???

What size are your subs?
How do you have them wired to the amp?
Adjust the lo-pass crossover on your amp to 80Hz or less to send the proper (low) signal to the subs.

yeah its the ms2125, my gains are set low because the installer told me that i needed an amp for the highs and mids. But could that really make that much of a difference? The amp is bridged. The guy told me also that my speakers were underpowered.

If your gains are all the way down and you do not have high enough voltage on your pre outs yes...because your amp will not be boosting the signal enough.
