2009-2011 Civic Navi in '93 Acura
Does anyone know if I would be able to use the OEM "Premium Audio" Navi unit from a 2009-2011 (or the 2013-2014 even) in a '93 Acura Vigor?
I don't like aftermarket units and feel like the Civic units look "right at home" in the dash.
My concern is the Navi trying to talk with the car and such. Obviously it will not recognize anything on the Vigor but power.
I want the Navi and radio to function obviously. Will of course being doing my own speaker pin outs and stuffing the antennas in/ on the car some where. I was just concerned with the system not getting information from the cars ECU. Can the system be ran without that input?
Thanks

I don't see why not. Though it would likely be no easy task. The navi system in itself is pretty independent from the rest of the car. You'd obviously need the head unit to accompany the navi.
But things to consider- you'll need the full wiring harness, DVD drive, sensors (yaw, and whatever else), head unit and... whatever else. Any idea where you're sourcing this stuff from? Because if you're looking to buy them, it'll likely end up costing you 2k, easy, for everything. Not sure if that is worth it for you. I don't think the system needs the car Ecu for it to work though.
Also, keep in mind that your car doesn't have any of the right fuses or anything for the navi. It's not that it can't be done, but you'll be spending a lot of time figuring out the wire harnesses. Paired with the price, is it worth it for you?
