2005 TSX Radio Parasitic Draw Problem

So recently my battery died and I had it replaced and then after a few months the new battery is dead too. It needs a boost to start every single time.

Upon taking the car to the mechanic he discovered parasitic draw coming from the radio ... so the only way that the car will work is with the radio unplugged. This kind of pisses me off. It's an 05 w navi and replacing that whole unit is $7,000.00 list price. I think you can find some used ones for like $500 bucks.

My question for you guys is this, because I saw this elsewhere but can't seem to find the thread.

Last summer, I had an Audiovox 1500 mediabridge installed to my radio so that I could get bluetooth music capability with my phone in the car.

Is it possible that it was not installed properly or something and that the aftermarket part is actually what is causing the radio to not sleep and continue drawing power after the car is shut off with key out?

I'm curious if removing the Audiovox aftermarket part from the radio will solve the problem ... I would hope this is the problem rather than needing a whole new radio navi unit.

If so I will go back to the place that installed the aftermarket part for me and get them to replace it with something that works.

Post a picture of it if you can please.... And if you know where it gets it's power from just disconnect it and see if the problem stops. That would be the FIRST suspect not the factory radio. It could be hooked up via an add a circuit tapped into the fuse box or wired straight to the battery, but like I said a picture would help me say which if possible. If not at least a model number as I know most adapters like that install behind the radio.

Sorry stupid me reading too fast and didn't notice you already included model #, pic would still help very much if possible.
