2005 TSX 5AT...No hole in firewall to run amp power wire?

I noticed that in Ortiz's picture, he was able to run the amp power wire through a tiny hole next to the TSX's main harness... here's the picture:

however, I just went to look under the dash of my 2005 TSX 5speed auto, and there's NO little hole like that next to the main harness...i removed the rubber oval plate and all I saw was a sealed firewall....

can anyone else confirm this? maybe ortiz had a 2003 or 2004 tsx? and the new 2005 tsx's , they got rid of the hole?

so whats the 2nd best way of running the power wire, WITHOUT trying to go through the main harness ...becuz that is my last resort....

thanks

I think he drilled that hole! I put a tiny slit on the right hand side of that boot and slid my power wire through from inside the cab out to the engine bay. It was very easy.

There are a couple of grounds in the trunk to be used. I used a ground under the trunk carpet above the gas tank at first. It is the most accessable one. All you have to do is lift the carpet covering the spare tire and look towards the front of the trunk. Then there is another ground where the seat bolts to the car.

When you cut a slit in the boot make it small, just enough to push the wire through. Mine is small enough that if I ever pull out the wire it will look like there isnt even a cut in it.

ok thanks for the advice! sounds pretty easy...i only have to run one wire! anyways, what method or what are the best ways to securing a sub box in the trunk??? anyone? this is for a 10" subwoofer box. dimensions are about 12"x12"x12".

i have two 6 feet tie straps and i noticed that there are these silver ring hooks in the trunk ... i prefer NOT to cut into factory carpet or plastic material....

Bungie chords to the metal rings should work just fine

You will also need to tap in to the OEM amp for the remote wire. It's located under the "Not an ashtray."

ok thanks, really remote wire?? the manual for my JBL BP600.1 says if I directly connect two wires into the speaker-level inputs on my JBL amp, it will automatically sense a voltage "signal" and thus would not require the remote wire..however, if using RCA, you do. i will be using the 6x9's and buying that crutchfield adapter and going directly to the speaker level inputs on the amp....

I bought some adjustable bungies from Target, and it works great.
