My old roommate used to have a Digital Design 15" pushing 3000 watts to it. It could sustain "burps" of up to 10K watts.

If i read this right, your using 10" woofers for your highs.

can I ask why?

dont you know what a good set of tweeters,flush mounted in your door can do, I push thousands(literally) of watts and i have a set off infinity kappa's with about 1000 watts goin to them in my front doors and i hear all the highs fine. crisp and clean.
