Hey guys, so I just purchased a '98 3.2TL, and I'm looking to upgrade the sound system. I just spent about 30 minutes chatting online with a Crutchfield rep. regarding the setup and what would work. I plan on calling them tomorrow, since I wasn't originally planning on installing a sub, but have found out that most aftermarket speakers don't provide enough bass. I have a basic idea of what I want to do, but I was wondering if anyone here has upgraded the sound before, and if so, what did you do/specs/brands etc. Thanks.

 

I wouldn't listen to anything a crutchfield rep said just like I wouldn't go to best buy for tech advice. That said, what you want to do with your sound system really depends on what you want. Are you just wanting to add some low end bass? or are you wanting to upgrade the highs and mids for better clarity as well? Some people are bass heads and some want hi fidelity. A better idea of what you're wanting and what kind of budget you've set aside will help steer you in the right direction. I would figure on at least a couple hundred just for wiring and an enclosure.
