I have an 09 TSX. I have had it about 4 months and the past month or so the stereo sounds terrible. This wasnt really an issue the first few months I had it. Talk radio,XM stations and Ipod MP3s (encoded at a high bit rate) all sound bad.

Not sure how I should describe it. I would say the audio almost sounds hollow. A friend thought it had too much reverb. I know that isnt much to go on. But I am just not enough of a stereo expert to really describe it. All I know is that no matter what I do to the audio settings, I cant get it to sound good.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Or have audio settings they recommend?

does the tsx have the 2 microphones in the vehicle like the 03 and up hybrid accords/08 and up accords? if so they are there to "cancel" road noise and the system may not be operating properly. by that i mean, they are designed to send the front or rear speakers out of phase when noise is detected, thus canceling noise.

 

I am also noticing a distorted sound, even at low levels, from the two rear door speakers. It's almost like the amp is bad, with a very "garbled" sound as if there was plastic film in the way of the speaker. I've had the car in for a couple other issues, and both loaner cars had similar distorted sound. I don't think it was there when I first bought it, but now it's driving me crazy.
Anyone else with similar experiences?

 

i have had two blown speakers replaced and will be going in for the third....
