I haven't taken out my stereo head unit yet, so I don't know what the actuall part number is for it.......Anyone else know? (I searched and couldn't find)

I have read that it's made by Alpine and wanted to get more info from Alpine as to what other alpine accesories can be attached.

Also, is the XM portion seperate? And if so, where is the XM box located? I want to tap in to the XM output/HU input and haven't seen any info on it. There's nothing in the stickies that explains it. What plug and pins do I tap in to?

Thx!

Does anyone know where the XM box is? Or is it part of the head unit?

XM box is seperate but the cable is part of the vehicle harness, per my Acura dealer. Don't know the location.

Just because it's made by Alpine does NOT mean you can add anything Alpine to it... or Panasonic, or Pioneer, or whoever is the HW vendor, I don't know for sure...

It's not made by Alpine! Our head unit is made by something like Matsushita corp in Osaka, Japan.

That is probably the manufacture of the screen and some of the components. I am pretty sure that the navigation system, the radio tuner and the cd player are all made by alpine.

Matsushita is one of the largest companies in the world, and is Panasonic, as well as many other brands. Honda and Pana have a long relationship, and Alpine and Pana do too... I don't know how many factories Alpine owns, but I know Pana has great quality and reliability, so there is some kind of partnership on the Honda Acura account, I think.
