Hey I just bought an 04 TSX and the speakers seem so weak. I turn up the volume all the way and I can almost have a full conversation with the person sitting in the passenger seat. Are the Acura factory speakers just no good or is there a problem that I should look in to? Thanks.

 

Start by centering the fader balance treble and bass controls. The check to see if the door speakers are all playing and that the rear 6x9s are producing bass and the dash tweeters are working. If all the speakers are playing you should be able to turn the system up to full volume and depending on the material the system should be loud but not blasting. I don’t recall if I could carry on a conversation with the system at full volume but I know that it wasn’t eardrum shattering.

You might also want to check the condition of the wiring to the factory amp. It is located behind the not an ashtray and the instructions for access are in the FAQ section. The previous owner might have had a system installed and messed with the wires to the amp.

Its the stock system, its pretty bad. I recommend reading through the FAQs here first to get an idea of what you can do with it.

Yeah, the stereo in the TSX is its biggest downfall, imo....that's why you'll find many people here replacing it....The FAQs and people on this board are very helpful...
