03 TL - amp/sub install question

I am going to install an amp and a 10inch sub. I want to keep my factory Bose sub in.

Can I utilize the factory sub for an input and tie RCA converter off of that ?

Or will i have to tie into the deck or rear speakers for signal ?

Is there a DIY on here with a wiring diagram of the 03 TL stereo. I have a wiring diagram for the 3.2 CL- but I believe that is a different unit.

Any help would be appreciated !

Question for you, why would you leave in the stock sub if you're adding an aftermarket one? It's going to cut off airflow and probably be distorted by the aftermarket sub.

Other than that, make sure you have a LOC that's designed to handle the higher voltage of the amplified signal and you should be fine...

I am not much of a car audio guy so, thats a great point ! I was thinking of leaving it in, just in case i need to put stuff in my trunk and need the room to pull out the sub quick. That is the only reason for leaving the factory sub in.

What is LOC ? Can I pick up a signal from the factory sub for rca's ?? Or do i need to tie into the rear of the deck for that ?

LOC is a line output converter or something like that, it basically splices into your rear speaker wire, picking up the signal and has rca plugs that will run to your aftermarket amp. You will need an LOC if you are using the stock head unit, since stock decks usually dont have any rca plugs to plug into.
