Hi ppl,

I have a 97 CL 3.0 and recently the stock cd player went PE-0 on me. So I am thinking about getting an aftermarket cd player.

My question is, can I just take out the stock HU and install the aftermarket one? or do I need to have other stuff done?

Here is the head unit im looking at:

Alpine CDA-9847

- with -

Alpine KCA-121B for my iPod mini. (I dont want the Alpine KCA-420i because I want to control my iPod with the iPod)


Is this setup ok? Please let me know.

You cannot just replace it, you will either have to run a remote wire from the head unit to the stock bose amp to turn it on, or bypass it, by splicing the wires. You can't just replace the hu, cuz it won't turn on your amp or speakers.
