iPhone 6 or 5's?

I have an Android phone but my contract is up in about a month. I am thinking of switching back to an iPhone for the Siri Eyes Free feature as the OK Google feature isn't imbedded in the TLX. Plus I have a base model TLX so can't take advantage of the upgrades that the TLX w Nav are getting. Any issues I should know about with Bluetooth, Phonebook, Text, Mail etc?

Not to start a riot, but I believe there are more issues with iPhones that Androids when dealing with the TLX. Do your reading on the forum and elsewhere. Just saying.

I now have the iphone 5S and am wondering if the slightly larger iphone 6(and not the 6+) will "fit" into the mobile phone sliding holder drawer? Thanks.

Thanks; glad to hear it fits in the top drawer. Will adding a protective case to the iPhone 6 prohibit it from fitting in the top drawer?

I have the iPhone 5S and the text feature doesn't work in the TLX. Is this a known problem or is there another sync step I'm missing? I've just done the bluetooth pairing. That's it.

What particular "text feature" are you suggesting doesn't work?

I haven't tried to send any texts, but my TLX does work with receiving texts, notifying me, and asking if I want them read back by voice (or seen on screen if car isn't moving).

If you aren't receiving texts, try this (from a different thread I posted this solution in):
Keifer, do this while not in your car. On your iPhone, access Settings > Bluetooth. Then, for the "HandsFreeLink" device in the list, tap on the "i" within a circle on the right hand side. This will open up a new screen.

On this screen, there should be an item labelled, "Show Notifications". This is likely not enabled for you. Enable it.

Back out of the menus to get to the home screen and then restart your phone. Now go to your car and check to see if the "email and texts" are are still grayed out.

I wrote this in another thread:
No disrespect to anybody, but the iPhone does not work fully with the built in text messaging feature. It never has since the dawn of the feature in Acura cars. You can always refer to the 'official' site at HandsFreelink and use the 'find a phone' feature to try different carriers etc. I have a link to what you'll see with an iPhone 6 and TLX Tech.
If memory serves me correctly, this feature rolled out around 2012 with the (then) new ILX and RDX. Since it requires a Message Access Profile (MAP) to function, the phone must fully implement this standard. Apple does not fully adhere to this, thus you get reading only, no replies.

pdpgps, I'm left to wonder why so many people (evidenced by the posts on the topic) don't know this before they buy the car? Is it a failure of the sales consultant to tell you, or did the customer never ask the question? As I review my interactions, I think I always ask what kind of phone the customer has so that I can review what will work or not work.

Well in my previous Acura's, this was never a feature until I had the ILX. On the ILX it worked with the notification and reading of the text up until I got the iPhone 5s. It's probably a mixed failure of myself and the sales consultant not diving into this level of detail during the test driving phase and set up. I was one of the first 10-15 people buying the TLX at my dealership and the sales people weren't fully trained up on the car yet because the car had just arrived the week before. It's also not one of the first questions that comes into mind when dealing with a new car.
