BTW...while cruising from richmond to downtown, A few of us might be caught up in traffic.

If any of you are lost from the group, we will stop at Stanley park for pics and hopefully you will catch up to us by then.

I think we shall take Granville street to head down to Stanley Park.

And Please feel free to add comments.......thx

Great thinking Chewi . I would only add that, if some of us get lost in traffic, we should all know (or be familiar with) where the "destinations" we'll be heading to and the "approximate" times we'll be hanging around that area. We don't want any lost members in traffic to go to Stanley Park and not see us, for example.

1) Before we head out, all of us should be familiar with where we are going and the approximate times.

2) A few of us should exchange cell phone numbers when we meet up, just in case they get lost and don't see us at the destinations.

I think we should skip Stanley park. Parking there is a bit**. Jerico or Iona are good spots. Iona has a great drag strip if you want to light her up. Both beaches have really good parking. Any of you guys have a GTech ?

There are a couple TSXs from another forum who said they'd come. Their board won't allow me to post a link to this forum.

I'll be there Rain or Shine.

Question BBQ Anyone ?

Iona is on Sea Island at the North side of the airport on the North North Arm of the Fraser River. Iona may not be the most photogenic place. Jericho or Stanley Park makes for better backdrops. On the flip side Jericho and Stanley Parks may be crowded. Hmmm I think Jericho and Stanley are both pay parking areas, I am going for a drive to check Jericho and down to Iona to see if it'd be good.

If we could agree on it, I'd be willing to set up a BBQ at Jericho or Iona but we need to all get in on this quickly as Friday is comming. I'd want another person to help arange this. Any takers - call me.

HMMM ..... I guess we have to see who wants to have a BBQ after the cruise.
And I'm not sure how long people are willing to stay after the cruise.

BTW....BREAD A-SPEC Just called me and said he will be comming along =)

Anyways.... Lunch at 1145 am should be at sammy J peppers on No.3 road near lansdowne Mall. I will have to make reservations tomorrow for the Patio. I hope everyone is ok with that. Parking should be pretty good there.

The idea was to cruise to Iona at 11:45, eat, shoot pics, relax. Cost would be minimal.

Otherwise, I'd prefer to cruise to Jericho first, shoot pics and lunch last. ejn184 has been handing out flyers so we don't know how many will show.

btw Jerico is not pay parking and neither is Spanish Banks.

Yes...I agree with you.... I do not want to pay for parking as well. We'll just drive around Stanely Park and stop at Spanish Banks or where ever is free Parking.

I'm just wondering if Sammy J peppers is still on the List?

I need to know ASAP cuz I have to make reservations.

Let me know what would be a BETTER place to eat FAST if the turn out is big. Like 30 Plus people.

OK...I think Lunch Last is a very good idea cuz The main thing is to meet and cruise around town.

Some people might have to leave early so its better to just eat last.

Exclamation Please vote if you are comming to our meet

TSX guys are talking California Cafe. Any of you think it is a good idea? I've never heard of it. Kind of food? Location?

I've proposed these options to them and told them I need a head count.

I suggest we all take a vote for our order of preferance eg: bca or cba or cab or...

We'll go with the most popular choice after all 11 of us have spoken.

Options
A Meet, cruise to Iona, BBQ, PICS, relax
B Meet, Cruise to Jericho via Stanley Park, PICS, EAT ?
C Meet, Eat@12p, Cruise to Jericho via Stanley Park

California Cafe is actually pretty good.
Its a Western style Chinese Cafe....

Its not bad at all... and PLUS..... its at LANSDOWNE MALL right at the parkin glot that we are meeting up. That way....its definitely convenient for everyone.

If there are too many people, we can split up and walk inside to the food court for lunch.

Then about 1pm we should all meet up at the parking lot and start our cruise.....

Seems that Choice C is pretty good to me...... But i don't mind eating first or Last

So B or C is just fine

Food court is good because it covers all tastes and no reservations lots of seats. We won't get into quality in this discussion. Cali Cafe sounds interesting and being so close is great.

Are we sure the mall is open ?

We could then say 11am meet 11:45 eat 12:45 cruise

GOOD Question.... i don't know if the mall is open, but I think they close early at 5pm instead of 9pm b/c its a holiday.

And even if the mall is closed.... Lansdowne MAll actaully has like 4 or 5 restaurants around including Earls, NO.9, and some other ones.

I guess We can split up into these restaurants even if the food court is closed.

BTW... we should print out a scedule for everyone or atleast post some here so that we can print them out and hand out to those new comers

Okay:
Sammy is out.
BBQ is out.

Cali or Food court is in. If Jericho is too busy to do a photo shoot, we can truck on to Iona.

Sorry guys. My BAD! I should have said don't bother voting. I think we've got a workable solution.

Meet, Eat at Cali or Food Court to be determined, Cruise, PICS at Jericho.

What do you guys think of this cruise path:

Landsdowne Mall to Iona to Arthur Laing Bridge and driving all the way down to Robson Street Downtown from Granville St. From Robson to Denmen turn right to Georgia st heading to Stanley Park. Go around Stanley park and we come out to Beach Ave (English Bay) then onto Burrard Bridge. Off the Burrard Bridge make take right to Cornwall Ave which leads to Kitsilano Beach. Keep going on Cornwall til we hit Macdonald St. Make left turn onto Macdonald St til we hit 4th ave. Make right turn onto 4th which will lead us all the way to Jericho Beach.

We should make stops if parking space is available for taking pics.

What do you all think.
Meet, Eat at Cali or Food Court to be determined, Cruise, PICS at Jericho.
I think this is the best option. After we meet up and get to talk and see each other's cars, we'll probably be hungry. After the lunch, it will be good to cruise and then take pictures. When we meet up and if there are others that have to leave early, after consulting and talking, then we can do pictures first then cruise on a reverse path of Ed99's suggestion.

Overall Ed99's proposed driving route is pretty good and gives us plenty of exposure on the roads so no complaints there. Just hope it will be a nice sunny day when we meet up.

Triggle, thanks for the BBQ idea even though it's off the list now. The food choices are likely going to be one of those restaurants in Richmond which is fine with me; I think we can still be flexible in where we go because we don't know exactly who and how many will show up.

We'll exchange some cell phone numbers when we meet up on Friday so no fear worrying about anyone getting lost on the route Chewi. In addition, if the driving route is final, maybe someone can post a map with streets/directions for our proposed trip or some drawing of our trip ( scan it ) and upload it here with the rough ideas of destinations and times of the locations.

Sounds great so far and eager to meet you guys.
