I am only going to go for the day, not going to be able to stay overnight this time.

I will prob stay for Dinner and split after that. Duno if anyone else was thinking of doing the same thing. If so we can all drive back together.

Okay got a problem. Due to some big event happening in Austin that weekend, the hotels are booked out it seems. I tried to book a room at the Hampton and they are sold out. They checked the DoubleTree, Embassy, and 5 total hotels in the DT area. All sold out!!

Ethan and Mark, help me out here. What hotel do we plan to stay in so we are at one location?

Just called about 4 other hotel lines, hampton, super8, marriott, Hilton, all of them are booked around the DT area. Ugggg.

If anyone finds a nice hotel, let me know. I rather not spend more than $129 a night.

No recommendations for downtown at this time. You can try Embassy Suites north of downtown in the Arboretum but that may be further out of your way. For us coming from the North it would work. Its $139 a night I think.

I found a hotel. Seems resonable and its a little close to DT, but still at least 1-2 miles from 6th street. I called every hotel in DT austin. None have rooms unless you want to pay $250+.

Here is the one I found and they had rooms for $119 a night. It's just south of 183 on 35.

pimpin: i just looked at the map for that hotel and that one is actually the one i was staying at. just so you know it is pretty far north. prob more like 10 min at least to DT. it is a nice hotel and they have a very well lit parking lot. the managment is also really nice. it may be a little farther, but i think this is the one to go with. this is actually the one i recommended a long time ago for the first meet but it got shot down due to the distance it is from DT, and everyone saying its in the "ghetto"
