DFW Acura Club
Would anyone in the DFW area be interested in forming an Acura Club here in North Texas?
Having hung out with the Audi club, I have found many advantages:
1. Group discounts at local tire shops (Discount Tire)
2. Special treatment/discounts on work at local dealerships
3. Discuss issues related to their cars and work as a group to get things resolved
4. Plan fun events (driving your car out at the Texas Motor Speedway, arranging sneak peeks of new vehicles from the manufacturer, driving events, etc...)
These are just some ideas. Thoughts?

I'm in. A friend of mine has a 911 and belongs to a club where they meet, race, tell lies, etc. I think it's a great idea. I think there are several tracks in the DFW area that are open to car clubs - I'll ask my friend where he goes to see if we can do the same thing.

Where would some good meeting locations? I'm moving to the West Dallas/Irving area....there are quite a few restaurants we could gather at.

Military brat myself...Sheppard AFB was my last post (Vance prior to that, YUK!). Survived two branches (Army and USAF)... Anywhooo.... Where did you acquire your TL? Bob Howard?

Looks like we have a gathering.... I've got nothing going on 24APR and am available to meet whereever. Let's see if we can get this club up and running!

I'm in...Unfortunately I don't have a TL yet. (saving up as we speak) However I do own a 6gen V6 Accord I can offer group rates for firmare upgrades on Sony Ericsson phones, some Panasonics, Siemens, and soon Nokia. I love the TL though...I'm set on this car. The only thing missing is the cashflow. If I may be allowed in the club, I can contribute a good amount of information: mobile phone technology, a good contact at NTB, a performance shop and some other small stuff.
Question is, where is everybody located in the DFW area. It would be good to find a central location.

gbriank,
Actually, I traded my old car in down in FL when visiting my parents over Christmas and drove it back here. I usually go to Bob Howard for my service but am still undecided as to whether I like their service or not. Where do you go for service and what has your experience been? I'd be interested to know. Thanks.

To All:
If we do set up a meet somewhere, I personally would prefer something either in Fort Worth or up near TMS since I am coming from northwest of the DFW area, but since I am a ways from you all, I will, of course, be flexible as to what works best for you.

Rob04TL: Anything that is non-warranty related can be handled by a Honda dealership....DON'T go to Pistocco in Wichita Falls. They suck! Sadly, it looks like Acura has closed several dealers (there were three, Bob Howard, one on 3 and one in Moore). Closest DFW dealer looks to be Mac... I use Goodson and they are very good....

I think Irving might be the best of both worlds. Fuddruckers off of 183 and North Beltline sounds good.... Bring ideas of what you want out of this club and let's have some fun.
Rob04TL:
Best route: I-44 South to 287 South to 820 East to 183 East. Exit at the North Beltline exit. Restaurant is on the left. Sidenote: be wary of speeding around the Bowie area. Cops are ruthless!

I live in the DFW area (Flower Mound) and would be interested in getting together -- racing would be very cool.
Unfortunatly, I am travelling (In CA) and will be out of town on the 24th. If your putting together a mailing list, please add my name to it. Whoever is organizing it (or will be the club prez) please PM me for my contact info.
I hopefully can make the next meeting.
Thanks,
John

anymore news? Was anything put into stone?
I started this thread: http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77677 just to get a show of hands since this thread kind of disappeared... and if anyone has a Sony Ericsson phone in need of upgrading, I can be of service when we all meet.

I'd be interested in joining this DFW Club. Don't know if I'll be able to make the 24th though. Please keep me on your distribution list if you have one.

Hey what's up guys! I didn't know there was so many people from Dallas on here! Hopefully I'm getting mine late Summer early Fall. What dealership did you get the best deal at? I live in Irving and Goodson Acura gives me the feeling they're trying to f*ck me. I want Anthracit/Ebony/ 6spd/ Navi with body kit... Let me know.

Happy shopping
**ALSO**
I'm game for the DFW TL activities/club, but the 24th doesn't look good, both in regards to personal commitments and weather....
Take care and keep your DFW TL's inside, safe from the hail!!

Sorry, I can't join in 'cause I'm in NY. Though I was in Dallas last weekend for a conference at the Adams Mark, stayed at the Fairmont.
I discovered Sonny Bryans down at the West End....also got to see where JFK got whacked a block away. Man, are you guys lucky to the best barbeque ribs pig out in the world right in your town.

bump, let's get this up and going...I actually need to find a deal on a TL. For dealers, my favor goes towards David McDavid although I have heard Goodson Acura is just as good.

I was talking to a asian lady sales woman. She didn't want to let me have a test drive right away, didn't seem interested. Maybe it's because I'm younger (27) and she doesn't think that I can afford it. I have a 40,000 Chevy Tahoe right now, so I don't see why she would think that. Also I was telling her things about the car, I just hate dealing with sales people who don't know much about the product they sell. I don't need a test drive anyway, this is my next car. But I want at least a $2000 break on the deal. Anybody try the dealership in Arlington, Vandergriff? They seem bigger than Goodson. I'll probably end up leasing through AutoFlex anyway...

I picked up my 04 TL on Friday 5/14 from Vandergriff in Arlington, I paid invoice for it plus free tint and a free sunroof visor. MSRP was 33195.00 and I paid 30820.00
