OMG!!! HAHAHAHAHA! I just HAVE to share this!!(I can't believe I'm going to)

After checking that google map pic I just realized I've been in that parking lot so many times. As a matter of fact I was just there YESTERDAY! Why you ask??

I live in a highrise apartment off of LSD facing the lake and my car sleeps underground. I have no garage. It is really frustrating since coming from my parent's 3 car garage I used to work on my car whenever and take it for granted. None of my friends here in Chi-town have garages. I usually have to wait to go to my mother-in-law's house in the suburbs on weekends. So what do I do...

I have gotten desperate enough to work on the car in THIS parking lot! I drove around one day looking for a spot near my house. This was the most deserted area. It's a huge parking lot. Yesterday I actually jacked up my car and changed all 4 stock rims to my 18" A-specs! HAHA! It took me 45 min. and I got a few "wtf??" funny looks but nobody bothered me. (I did look a bit shady with my shades, backwards hat and boots.)

Cops roll around park areas like crazy but hardly into this lot. As a matter of fact I saw COUNTLESS people taking advantage of the large area to teach others how to drive!! (LOL! It's like a driving school track!). I don't think anyone would care or even notice if we had a meet here of even 100 cars. There are parking lots closer to the beach areas where we can take really good waterfront pics.

In case anyone is hesitatant to come because of tolls/distance, just try your best effort! We don't do this everyday, it'll be a good time! I just hope many of us can show up and the weather is sweet.

sweet... i cannot promise as of now i may be out of town, however i live a few blocks away so if im home ill be there.... i will want a ride in a TSX though, still miss its luxury.

I am going to be going to the dealership next Thursday and there are a few folks there that I am going to ask to come out also.

 

I forgot to post that the other day I got a call back from the Chicago Park Dist. They told me that there is no permit needed if we are less than 50 deep. They said that if we do want we can get a permit for one of their grove areas, but I figure that the parking lot is going to be the place to be.

 

Well since we are having our meet the same day as H-T there will probably be more than 50 cars there. Last I checked H-T had almost 50 members on their list, so Im guessing there could be anywhere from 70-100 cars.

 

Who is H-T?

 

Honda - Tech... We're kinda crashing their bash.

I wouldn't bee to concerned about exceeding the number of people on our end, so what two groups decided to have a little get together, we'll just disassociate from H-T folks if it gets too crowded and tickets are being handed out.

yes. Steve is the new owner. Great guy. He may come to the meet. My one friend is going to call him up.

Plus he has some new mods i am unaware of.

I am coming down next wednesday to highland park to put in a type 2 motor and break it in and the owner is coming to your meet on the 28th. I will be unable to attend.

94' black 6spd coupe with fully rebuilt type 2 motor with obx headers, chip,short shifter, 3angle valve job, balanced motor etc.
