fellas, just broke up with my gf (long distance was just killing the relationship--she lives in TN) so i won't be making it up to the dragon. sorry but you're ugly mugs don't do it for me either lol

Guys, does the time I had suggested of 9AM sound good? I just want to be able for us to get up there and do a couple of rounds before the sun goes down. I know that some of you have a long drive home and I just want to get everyone there and back safe and sound.

Ok, scanned through here again, but didn't see updates/info on the following questions:

some are riding through on saturday but most will be meeting in atlanta and caravanning up to the tail. the meeting time is 9 am so far at the dragon but that is still pending.
I recommend that we all meet at the gas station from the last meet (ty knows the address) around 9 and THEN go to the dragon so that everyone arrives at the tail around 12

^ That route from the gas station from the last meet will take us longer to get to ToD since we have to get on I-575 to ride up there.
chill_dog, I'm still waiting to hear from the others to see if my suggested pre-meet time of 9AM is good since it'll take a couple of hours to get to Tail of the Dragon. How far is Murphy, NC from where you're at?

Seems TOTD is nowhere near where I thought it was. It's a little over four hours away, according to MapQuest. Of course, I can't get the damn thing to give me the most direct route, but I would imagine three and a half hours.

yes, well we broke up do to the distance thing and lately because of a lack of communication. she was my chief motivating factor for coming up to the dragon and with her out of the picture now, it merely seems pointless

If we wait until 10 to head out, we'll be at TOTD by noon. Hopefully, we can make it to the second rendezvous point before then so that we can still have some time to carve the trail before it starts to get dark.

Add me to the list, its tentative at the moment (work) but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it on Sunday, a fellow student says he wants to ride his bike up there as well. He says TOTD is very popular for bikers and has been wanting to make the ride.

is there any reason why this isnt a saturday thing? i have to work at 6am on monday morning back in charlotte.....with the amount of drive time some of us have it seems like a better idea to do it on a saturday no?
