Austin Meet July 8th and 9th!!!
That's right folks, time for some more fun in the sun!!
Chops will be gracioulsy blessing Austin with his appearance and I figure that we should give him a taste of TX. Here is a VERY rough schedule of events, subject to change of course without notice
Friday 8th:
I figure that we will meet up at some Austin institution, Chuys, Shady Grove or the like, and grab some drinks/food. Chops will be arriving into Austin at 7ish, so dinner would be at 7:30-8ish.
Saturday 9th:
We will meet at the Great Hills Theater at 10:30 (I will give the address later once I have it for shure). Once everyone has as arrived, we will depart at roughly 11:30 for some Hill Country Cruising. I plan to take us through some twisties and some nice back country roads.
We will arrive at the Salt Lick for a BBQ lunch at 12:30-1ish and fill up with some of the best BBQ in TX. We will then complete our cruise by taking a circle around the outskirts of Austin to finish at oneof my Favorite roads, Lime Creek Rd.
If you like twisties, you will love this road!
After our cruise through the Hill Country, all y'all are welcome to my place for some drinks and a swim. Car washing will be available should we as a group decide to go to the Saturday Night Car Show, a collection of Exotic and Antique Muscle Cars.
More drinks will be available after the show downtown.
So there you have it folks. I know that it is quite last minute, but we were uncertain as to the desire to meet up.

I'm not gonna be back to Austin by then but it sounds like fun.
If you're looking for fun roads there are bunch of neat hill country roads that run through the canyons north of Lake Travis running along the Pedernales river out to Marble Falls too. Lots of sport biker riders ride on them during the weekend. Just head north on 2222 and keep going on the same road once you cross RR620.
For good cheap BBQ Smokey J's at the corner of 2222 & 620 owns all. Damn! I'm really missing the Salt Lick.

saturday is my moms birthday so the only day i would be able to come down is on friday, who know's i might be able to work something out because they are going to a party on saturday night
It's 195 miles from me, and a estimated 3 hour and 45 minutes drive i could probalby do it in 3 hours or less depending on the flow of traffic, i'll see if i can just go friday crash there and then come back sometime saturday afternoon.

For those of you who are to lazy to mapquest the location, all you have to do is take the stassney exit of off IH35 and head west. The Chilis is immediatly on your left in the same parking lot as Krispy Kreme, Rock Fish, Macaroni Grill and some other places.
