Looks like you all had a great meet! Nice video! We were bummed that we couldn't make it! Our other plans got cancelled at the last minute and so our Saturday was totally wasted!

Rick, we saw the ads in the SJMercury News! Whoever was responsible for that, Great Job! Nice to get the word out!

Hopefully we can make it next time! Keep us in the loop please!

My TL's first time at Infineon Raceway....

Well...How do we top this meet.......hhhmmmmm!!!!

I know..... we should have a day at the race track!!!!!

I was invited by Opak Racing to take my car to the Infineon race track and oh boy that was fun!!! I am hooked and would like everyone to experience driving on the track...It's not all about horsepower, it is about driving technique.

F1Lynn came by in the afternoon and got to ride on the OPAK RSX Race car.

So here is what I am planning for our next meet, I was talking to Opak Racing and Autosport garage asking them to sponsor the group so we do not have to pay for track time.

Here is the link to N.A.S.A. Pro Racing schedule.
http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/...class.htm#hpde

We can have the meet at ThunderHill on August 11th (Saturday) http://www.thunderhill.com/

OR

We can have the meet at Infineon on September 9th (Saturday)
http://www.infineonraceway.com/

I went to this event today to experience the process first hand....Here is how my day went...all times are close to the actual event and the track time is 20 minutes at a time and for beginners you get 5 times on the track:

6:45 Drive to Sonoma
7:30 Arrived at Infineon and paid my $10.00 entrance fee
8:00 Met with Opak Racing and registered for Level 1 Driving with Instructor
8:30 Went to the Drivers Lounge for Lesson and be assigned to a instructor
9:00 Vehicke inspection to make sure your car has no violation and all safety device are working. My first time on the track riding with my instructor (this was scary..they drive fast) to show me the apex lines
9:45 My car's first time on the Track with the instructor on the passenger side
10:05 Driver's Lounge for download (they talk about what happened on the last drive.)
11:45 2nd time on the track with the instructor...this time I was more comfortable and driving more on the apex lines.
12:30 Parade Lap - This is where your friends and family can ride with you and show them exactly how it feels to be on the race track.
1:45 Third time on the track - Driver's lounge for download afterwards
3:35 Fourth Time on the Track - Driver's lounge
5:15 Fifth time on the Track and drivers lounge

So all in all this will be a full day event...it is cool since there are races in between and the whole family is invited. At infineon there are activities for everyone...and I mean everyone. There is also a time reserved for non racers to experience the track by driving with a registered driver for half hour.

S2K Screwed up at Infineon Raceway

By the way....Edmund of Opak told me that yesterday (Saturday) he invited the S2K group to join him at Infineon and there were some incidents at the track that N.A.S.A. did not appreciate. I hear that they bumped at each other on the track and caused them to be black flagged and removed from the track.

I assured Opak Racing that our group is better at dealing with out of control driver....(we let them go first)

Oh My Goshhhh!!!!!
I cannot get this stupid grin off my face!
Neorick arranged a ride for me from OPAK Racing, (and not had just any driver, but a former ALMS, NASCAR, now Russell Racing School Instructor-@ Sears Point). Tyler, (my driver) was so smooth and non-jarring, it was amazing! Fast as hell and close-I thought we were going to have contact with other cars a couple of times! Some tried to shut the doors on us, but eventually they would screw up on their lines and off they were eating our dust! Had sooooo much fun! Thank you Edmun and Tyler! Nice meeting Tarow of Swift springs too, (matta ne)!I would recommend bringing your own helmets (even if it's for a motorcycle) and lots food and drinks. The usual cafe was not open. (We did however arrive very late).
The guys at Autosport (Franco?) gave John a ride too, and he couldn't stop smiling!!!
Thanks to EVERYONE at Autosport for their wonderful hospitality!!! They are really a great bunch of people to be with!

Rick,
I will send you the NASA member form in next email.

Requirement:
- NASA membership ($40/year)
- Need a helmet (Motorcycle helmet is ok).
- Cost for HPDE for a day $149/person . We can provide an instructor (as you had experienced).

This is full day. 4 sessions on the track approx. 30 min. each session 4 classroom instruction and download after each track

We plan to do some barbecue or something for the group. Perhaps, your group or each one contribute, drinks, hot dogs )bottle water, sodas.

Opak will provide numbers for the car for each participant.

Opak will coordinate and make sure all is taken care of at the registration.

This is HPDE (not racing your car - make sure they understand it)

Membership form must be turned in to Opak and we will set up their membership card etc...

For each session, there will be at least 30 - 35 cars. So if we have enough people from your group, we will have our very own session for the TL owners... Not to mixed with other cars..

Check www.nasaproracing.com click HPDE there are more info about this.
We will schedule this at Thunderhill. Its a safer track for first timer.

Let me know.
Edmun

NEORICK - What do you guys think? I am still talking to Spoon Sport to see what else can they do for us...so stay tuned
