We are going to have a club meeting on Saturday the 10th of February. We will be discussing club issues as well as planning for the Austin meet. I hope all the new members that have joined will be able to make it. It will be nice to meet everyone. So make some time on the 10th for a meet on your calendar. So it would have to be Monday or Tuesday based on his schedule.

VtecBio009, you might be challenged to have people show at a more expensive restaurant. Maybe we can coordinate something a little less pricey. Where are you staying and maybe the locals can throw out an idea that'll work. You'll get more people to turnout that way. The other option is to meet up for a beer/drink.

That zip code is located close to 2 or 3 areas that are good to meet up in.

Both of these places are in more original Dallas areas that have been maintained for their historical value and relative approximity to more established residental areas.

I'd recommend Lower Greenville, probably the Blue Goose to start. Anyone else here have a preference on lower Greenville to meet up?

so I'm heading home from my bro's apartment tonight and I see this SI and he looks like he wants to play. So i kinda give it some gas and get going just a bit before we hit a red light. Then we get there and he rolls down his window, so I roll down the passenger side window not having a clue about what's going to take place. he starts giving me shit about almost hitting him and he tries to start shit.
I was fine to drive, but everyone in my car had been drinking, knowing that, my friend riding shotgun just apologizes and tries to let it go. So they start cussing and flicking us off to escalate the situation. Well this really pisses off my friend in the back with a temper, so he starts yelling back at them. And this is all taking place on a relatively busy street at a light to the service road of 820. Then they chunk a couple of beer bottles at my car! So my friend throws a coke can at him and hits his window and it goes inside and then I take off as the light turns green. I smoke him onto the highway and get up to about 85-90 and drop back realizing it's not worth getting in a high speed collision over all this. So they come flying by one last time and hit my window with another beer bottle. The glass must be pretty sturdy because I heard the bottle shatter and the window is fine. Then they cut me off and exit, and flash the hazards at me, and I keep going on the highway.
I got off a few exits later and checked everything out and sure enough i got a nice little dent on my passenger side door. I had so many feelings going through me, i was so furious I was shaking. I'm just spilling this all out because I'm still pissed and don't know what else to do. I'm replaying everything in my head over and over and wonder if I did the right thing. I know this sounds cocky but at 6'3" i was the smallest guy in my car, if we had all gotten out it would have ended badly for them, so i'm almost regretting not getting out and beating the piss out of those bastards.... dammit i'm shaking right now just typing all of this.... basically did i do the right thing? I'm trying to make myself feel better by telling myself that, but I just don't know... what would you all have done in my situation? I thought about following them as they exited and finding a nice secluded place to kill them, but honestly when someone is such a piece of shit to throw something at your car, I don't assume they'll fight fair if it came to it. I may be paranoid by i don't want to get shot or stabbed over crap like this... but I still regret not kicking their asses. What would you all have done?

Sorry to hear about the problem. Be thankful it was only cans and bottles and not guns. You never know what you are going to encounter on the roads at that time of the night, and the state of mind of some people as well. It sounds like you got off easy. See what it will take to fix the dent and live and learn.

 

Danny you did the right thing. Its best not to escalate it. It really couldve got very bad very quick. In situations like that its just best to walk away unless you feel your life is in immediate danger. If I had my family with me I wouldve taken all non lethal ways to get out of it unless I thought my family was going to get hurt.

 

All I know is you can drive that car. I have a whole new respect for the CL...
