Yo Philly peeps. I think it's getting closer to that time. When should we have the next meet? I was thinking late July/early August sometime but let's start to put some ideas together now. Never too early with this group

The location is set....same as usual, the Belmont Plateau. All we need is the food situation, date, and most importantly, what we can do to honor Red-CL.

Sorry….Just noticed this thread. Of course I’m always up for a get together.
Although weekends are quite busy over these summer months between family picnics, vacations and summer projects around the house.
When I’m not doing anything, it’s nice to just relax in the pool.
I think it’s gonna be fairly hard to get a big crowd together and I’m certainly not volunteering for the job.

As for MY schedule…
July looks fairly open except for the 4th Holiday weekend.
I’m out of town August 6/7th and 27/28th.
Other then that I have nothing set in stone right now.

OK, based on Shawn's approval. I will say the meet will happen on either Sat. Aug 13 or Sun. Aug 14. Next, we need a vote on which day is better.

Once we get that hammered out, the rest will fall into place. Brizzle.....can you handle the food situation (I'll chip in if necessary)?

I think it would be fair if we all chipped in $5 to cover the cost. Bruce was nice enough to provide for us last time at no cost, it might be too much to ask of it twice.

And Sun the 14th sounds good to me, as I work Saturdays, but what ever is more convienient for everyone else. I can always get the day off.

I used to prefer the Saturday meets, but the last two on Sunday worked out pretty good.
And that gives you a day to clean up the car instead of doing it Friday night after work.
Seems like more people have to work Saturday’s too.

So I guess I vote for Sun Aug 14th.

Sorry guys, just noticed this thread, I'm just settled on a house recently. Racersky pointed it out to me. If ya'll need someone to head this up, I can take it and run w/ it. We definately need to do it on a sunday. That second sunday in august sounds great. I can get my fam together and get the food going but this time I'm may need some people to chip in. I can maybe set a paypal donation thing up or something to make it easy for you guys. Please let me know if ya'll agree w/ this and I'll post an OFFICIAL PHILLY MEET thread by tuesday. As far as honoring RED-CL, we can try to have astroboy contact his family so they are aware, and we can actually do a ride by his house to show support. Hopefully his memory can bring people from further away. Let me know guys---I'm all up for this!!!

Sorry guys but we will have to make it the 21st and have a rain date of the 28th. My family(Mccall's Catering Service) and myself will be out of town on that weekend. I was just reminded yesterday of this. Please let me know if ya'll are fine with the date. If not, I'll just catch you guys next spring or if it's nice, a fall meet.

Do you know when you will be deployed? The reason being is, it takes a loong time to get these things organized. The August date was thrown out to give people plenty of time to prepare and clear their calendars. Even with this much notice, we'll probably have 50 people say they'll show up, then only have 25 actually be there (though we did have a great meet last time.)

Let us know what your deployment date is and we'll see where the cards fall. But more than likely, the August 21 date given out is the date the meet will be.

I think there's a meet coming up in July somewhere in Maryland. Michiraces2much might have some more info on that one.
