3/31 Meet Turnout Was Great!!!

Everyone:

I'd like to start off by thanking Ernie for taking the time to put the entire meet together - It was a Great time! Park Ave. Acura for coming down also, Wayne and Jens are great guys and I am really impressed at the initiative and effort they took by coming out and bringing that killer TL-S to show us all ! As far as dealerships go....Park Ave. is for my next Acura purchase.

The turnout was incredible ! When I pulled into the Marriot my jaw nearly dropped.... The last time I had seen that many Acura's was at the dealership when I purchased mine! Everyone was really mellow and on their best behavior... YES... even StonedCL who is really a nice guy... and not nearly as burnt as I had thought he was LOL

I am glad to see that everyone was pleased with the results of their Xephyr CAI Upgrades ! I'd like to thank Shawn's San Marino (Xephyr Blood) Red CL-S for the mangled knuckles I suffered... Yes... the bleeding has finally stopped LOL (*joking*) The car is evil and must be washed with holy water

YuppieCL...when you finally left we heard that growl at WOT for the next 3/4 mile!

I would also like to mention that I will now offer custom powder coated colors and even 2-3 color fades, I will be updating my site this week with color keys and samples.

Hope everyone had a great time this weekend and remember to reset your ECU by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 20-30 minutes (remember to have your Navi/Radio codes ready) to allow the ECU to relearn its fuel mappings. It will take 75-100 miles to fully optimize for your new intake to harness 100% power.

Jens: I have dynos and time slips available here if you do a search on the site or on my website under Acura 3.2 CL Type S Page

I am on my way out in a few hours to UPS another dozen units Anyone who ordered will be getting a confirmation by tonight.

Also Im looking for a wireless way to stay online as I am spending less and less time in front of the computer and more and more under the hood. Anyone with a good suggestion (Not Palm VII) please send me an email I am currently looking into Go.America Aircard for my laptop or something for a Compaq iPaq/HP Journada I need 100% wireless access to the entire net , not to a handful of clipped sites the way Palm does.

Chris,
I LOVE THAT SOUND AT 6,000 RPM'S I bounce my rev limiter in almost every gear now! This morning I destroyed a 330 on the Parkway. The look on the guys face when I dropped it in 3 and pulled on him was hysterical. The sound was reverberating off his car, holy shit, this car is stock quiet below 4,2000 RPMs but when you throttle it the NASCAR VwwwwwwwAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW comes out. This morning I was purposefully dropping it in D3 when I passed all the Maximas and was getting looks . I love my car so much more now. Next Mod, those Comptech Mufflers, they sound BADASS.

On the custom color it will be a 90% match. It will not be exactly the same, however, it will be difficult to see and glaring difference.

Sorry for the BLOOD Chris.

I didn’t get to disconnect the ECU yet, probably tonight after work.
She ran great this morning on the way to work. Almost didn’t want to tun into the parking lot.

Eclipse, I know EXACTLY what that sounds like.
When you were “taunting” that Mustang on 287 Saturday night I heard your engine revving two lanes over.

Chris/Shawn:

I don't know if you guys heard Jens saying it, but he claims there is NO NEED to disconnect the battery cable in order to 'retune' the ECU. You may want to confirm this with him, however. I guess it may be one of those things that doesn't matter one way or the other.

Shawn: If you disconnect yours later, please post any perceivable affects of doing so. Thanks. Hey, how many miles away from work do you live now that you have the CAI installed?!

Chris: Here's an observation about those who bought the CAI from you on Saturday: All five (Ernie, Shawn, Moses, Mike & I) were at the last NJ-NY-PA meet! Coincidence?!?

Fotis: I looked into Ricochet but they dont have service in South Jersey 112K would be sweet to a notebook/PDA ... but no dice

Soopa: I personally think the iPaq is much faster and has a better screen then the Journada... but i have NEVER had a good experience with Compaq equipment...ever.... All bad...no good...always break...never work... get the picture? LOL

Anyone else have a better idea? Wireless modem for my laptop maybe?

Pete,

I think Jens said it would take MUCH longer to re-program itself if you don’t cut the power.

I’m going up to Lehigh Valley Acura tonight to pick up my COOL new TL remote, I think I’ll take the LONG way home.
Should I wear my new Park Avenue Acura hat when I go inside ????

I’ll see if I turn any heads when I pull out of there and let them hear the new CAI.

Chris,

You need to hook up with Ken Steele. He is the wireless king here and seems to have the info on it all. Don't buy until you speak with him.

Chris excellent job at the meet I was very impressed with your willingness to bleed for the cause!!!LOL anyway although resetting the ecu is one way to reprogram the ecu remember it has then got learn everything all over again.Just driving it is sufficient since then it makes the adjustment for the denser cooler air entering the manifold. But it will work either way except that the computer is really lost the first few miles after a full reset.Jens

On another note about the meet, Eclipse23 mentioned that 47 CL's and TL's attended. That's an excellent turnout and if you figure the average cost being around 30k, that would be approx 1.4 million in Acuras

I love my iPaq...

And kensteele is the king of wireless connectivity to this board if you need any tips.

I agree, the Jornada is nowhere near the iPaq. Does the Jornada even have a PC Card slot? Of course the iPaq has a sleeve for either PC Card or CF Card. You'll need the flexibility in the near future when the Bluetooth stuff, et al, comes along.

Of course, the iPaq is hard to get.

Oh, the meet looks great. Wish I could have been there but East Coast is just tooooo far.
