2nd Annual Drive to Yosemite, NorCal Meet July 22nd

Who's interested doing a drive to Yosemite? Although not big in numbers, We had a great time last year enjoying some beautiful scenery.

Here's a link to last years meet:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...&page=11&pp=25

Photo Opps like this don't come everyday

Last year we met in Merced and drove into Yosemite through Mariposa on Hwy 140. Since that route is closed due to a rock slide, I propose the following route:
- We meet in Manteca (anywhere near the Hwy 120 and 99 interchange)
- Drive up to Yosemite on 120 and enter through the Big Oak Flat entrance
- Enjoy a leisurly drive through Yosemite Valley and do some sight seeing. We can pick a spot to have lunch.
- Exit Yosemite through the south entrance drop down into Fresno. Last year we ended up at Hooters but I'm open to suggestions.

The dates I'm suggesting are July 15th, 22nd, or 29th.

Here's a signup list to get things rolling. Please post your preference:

Drive to Yosemite

Meet and Greet from 9:00 - 10:30. Depart to Yosemite at 10:30

Where: Starting point is Manteca.
Specifc location :TBD - anyone familiar with the area? Suggestions welcomed.

Drive through Yosemite and end up at Hooters Fresno.

Hooters
7735 N. Blackstone Ave.
Fresno, CA 93711

well how about the 8th? Either way I'm in. Also what if we meet in Fresno, and go towards Huntington lake or Shaver lake area and come back?

I'd like to make it out again, but I'm not sure how my work schedule will work for July. I'll keep an eye out on this thread and see what date gets set in stone.

Not sure at this point. I think I will be free one weekend. I put some deadlines on people at work to get stuff done. They don't want to be in on the weekends just as much as I don't. Things are a tad different this year, as I am total control of inventory. It's all on my shoulders. I have to see what kind of progress gets made.

Please note, this is not a Fresno meet, although several people will be coming from Fresno. We'll be initially meeting in Manteca and then drive to Yosemite.

Nothing against Fresno, but I think most people from BA and surround areas don't want to drive all the way down to Fresno. They on the other hand may be willing to meet at a half-way point on the way to Yosemite.

BTW, is there any reason why you can't bring your car instead? I'd like to see it (TL right?). After all this is a 'CAR MEET'.

Absolutely! That's why we chose Manteca as a meeting point. We want to get our Bay Area brothers out in force to hang out. This meet is very flexible. People can jump in and leave at any time they want. For Bay Area guys that don't want to drop down into Fresno, you're welcome to backtrack out through Manteca if you want. Even if people can just make the Manteca Meet and Greet, we would encourage it.

I would be honored to have everyone make the full trip but I fully understand it if people are not able to. We had a great time last year and Yosemite will be beautiful this time of year. If time allows, I would love for us to drive up to Glacier Point for the scenic views.

Hope you can make it Ronnie. We need another high speed run through the tunnel video and you're the only one with a BOV.

If you're coming, I can probably talk a few of the Z guys to meet up with us.

You miss half the fun of the group on a bike though. I enjoy the drive and talk on the radio myself.

Before the meet I'll have chatterbox for my bike, so I can talk my fellow bikers and maybe it'll work with your radio too.

Jatt,

Thanks for the heads up. Depending on date, 95% sure I'll make at least part of the meet. Right now in Monterey, away from the heat until tomorrow.

I'll sign up when date is settled and I firm up my schedule.

Who's interested doing a drive to Yosemite? Although not big in numbers, We had a great time last year enjoying some beautiful scenery.

Question...if for some reason not a lot of people sign up will this meet still happen? I can commit to the 22nd but will have to motivate my passenger to wake up at 4am to make it on time.
