The 97 AT CL is the most complicated of all the shift knobs and has the smallest market so I just don't think it will make financial sense to spend R&D dollars on it.

will all shift knobs be engraved? personally i like it without any writing on it, like the original prototype pictures.

For the first generation TL, which is all auto, you can just take any manual honda shift knob and screw it on. For example my skunk2 shift knob fits perfectly on and works, looks really stupid though.

Just thinking aloud here, and please correct me if I'm wrong...

For the automatic transmission equipped Acura/Honda's that utilize the no-button gear selector, it shouldnt really be that difficult to make this or any other shift knob made for manual transmissions compatible for the slushmatics.

The gear selector knob is threaded (just like the manual knob), and if the manual knob doesnt screw on due to thread size or diameter, a reducer/enlarger fit piece could easily be created. This may be perfect since the OEM auto knob is generally longer and the reducer/enlarger will probably increase the length of the knob.

Hmm.. I have a threaded S2000 knob in my tool box, i'll go check to see if it fits the RL tonight. If it doesnt, I'll take a few measurements and see how much it's off and how low it sits.

Most Honda/Acura MT knobs use a M10 thread, the ATs use M8. You'll also find that the S2000 knob will sit too low when you put it on your RL.

I'm making a specific knob for the AT transmissions that will accommodate these requirements and will also be lighter than the MT ones to prevent accidental shifting while in SS mode.

Unfortunately I don't have a half million to buy my own lathe so I'm kind of at the mercy of a schedule. At the moment, it looks like the production is going to happen in mid september. I might also be able to run the AT knobs at the same time but I will need to get on a manual lathe before then to make a few prototypes.

I haven't forgotten about you guys...

That shift knob looks awsome. Will it fit on an 03 CL-S 6M? If so how much?

I'll be sure to let everyone know when they're ready. Production issues still need to be worked out but I'm going as fast as possible. The CL-S 6MT will be supported.

I really appreciate the interest and the patience you guys have shown. As some of you may know, I recently started a new job which is sending me to a remote part of Ontario until late November. It's going to be very tough for me to work on these shift knobs in the mean time so I'm going to do everything in my power to have them ready before the holiday season.

If anyone has any specific questions, feel free to PM me and I’ll be sure to respond when I get a chance to go online.

Cheers,

Dan
