Navigation - Head Unit Reboot?
Anyone have some thoughts on what would cause the entire navi - radio head unit to constantly reboot right after engine start? I'm not talking a casual single reboot - I'm talking 20 minutes worth of reboots every now and then.
Its been in the shop for a week and they've improved the grounding and disconnected my ipod but it hasn't made a difference.
With my Z coming off warranty soon, I'd like to get this sorted out....
A vid of the problem is here:

I couldn't even watch that video past 6. So annoying. I feel for you. Hope something comes from this and gets fixed. Major worry as my TL did pretty much the same exact same thing. After replacing a ass ton of fuses. I eventually gave up and just had radio and tape. The CD player tottally shorted out as well as navi. Over 6 grand to fix and I said bye bye.

I feel your pain
The navi system in my 2006 TSX began rebooting over and over again, and then later just died on me only about three weeks before I planned to trade it in. I still did the trade, but of course it killed the value. I now have a 2015 MDX Tech. Did they figure it out? Did you get it fixed?

Well, my dealer took the entire center stack out and sent it back to Alpine for service. My ZDX was down for about 2 weeks and I had the pleasure of driving a brand new 2015 TLX (great car). Apparently Alpine found something not right in the navi and replaced it. I've had my ZDX back together for about 10 days and so far nothing has gone wrong with the navi so what ever they replaced seems to have fixed it although I am still having an intermittent issue with the streaming bluetooth connection dropping every now and then.
Muller Woodfield Acura desires high marks for working on my behalf in getting the problem fixed. They did everything they could to isolate it and could not find the problem (lucky I had the video), so without a definite problem identified, they still sent it back to Alpine/Acura (on their nickel) to have them take a look at it. If it had come back No Fault Found, they would have had to eat the cost... a great shop and its the main reason I keep buying Acuras... (bought 4 over the last decade).

just FYI
i experienced continuous headunit reboot that was caused by playing a certain music file via USB flash drive, I couldn't even choose another file to stop this
only inserting another USB flash and then the old one helped
