2015 Nav Update

Hello,

Wondering if anyone updated their ZDX navigation system tothe 2015 release from Acura? Acuranavi.com wants $149 and I’ve not been able to locate otherresources so long story short… For thosewho have updated their nav system in the past, what was your experience?
Thanks!

I got a letter in the mail from Acura to update about a week ago. Ripped it up and put it in the trash. I too am curious about your question. Is a $149 update really necessary. Is there really that big of a difference? Built in nav units are slowly becoming more obsolete, especially the Honda/Acura units.

I think the ZDX uses the same database disk as my 11 MDX. It is very difficult to purchase last year used disk for $35-$50 like the good old days from ebay like I still can with my TSX and RDX. I think Acura made it where the updates cannot be used on any other vehicle except yours. Acura NEVER tells you what changes are applied and the data seems to be 1-3 years behind (housing areas, new roads, new business addresses, etc...). I usually travel between LA and Houston and get fair use from my Navi system. I've been fine updating every 3rd year. If you can wait until spring/summer; Acura sometimes will have a $99 special on disks. As long as you have a smartphone as a back-up, I would wait for the specials or skip a year or two.
