I'm surprised they don't disassemble the caliper when powder coating. Interesting.

not split, but taking the pistons out and the seals and stuff. I dunno. I've never powdercoated calipers before, but I thought that was the proper way of doing them. They bake them at pretty hot temperatures, so I'm not sure if there is a chance of damaging anything.

well if they were put in the oven with all of the seals still intact then thats a big no no. the seals would just degrade badly. I did that when I had my valve covers done, I forgot to take out the spark plug seals and they were fucking done when I got the covers back..
FWIW, im splitting my RL calipers myself , then send them to the powder guy, then ill reassemble them with all new hardware and seals

Here is the finished product. They dont look red to me. And all the seals were replaced with new ones except the small one that is between tbe calipers since they were not split open. There are many that say they need to be split open and some that say they dont. This is my second set that have been powder coated by the same place. The first set has mo problems at all. So im not worried about this set either. I cant wait to put them on

this is like that fricken dress debacle all over again (it was blue and black by the way) but lmao I seriously don't see orange and I'm trying really hard to do that. Both ways they look sick and can't wait to see them installed!

Also have ABP and the paint is peeling off the calipers. After reading this thread, I think I'll be painting them a metallic gold with black brembo decals. Because I couldn't find ANY other pics of painted calipers on an ABP TL (besides the one above), I might post some of my own assuming it turns out decent (in case any other ABP owners are curious).

Abbreviation for the paint color Abyss Blue Pearl. KBP = Kinetic Blue Pearl
Err, the Type-S calipers are Brembos. The RL 4 piston calipers are something else. Not sure who makes em, but it's not Brembo.
