Great deal on an A-Spec Body Kit! New price $799 shipped!

I found a great deal on the A Spec body kit. If I can get at least three people in on a group buy, Ray Laks Acura will sell them for $757 shipped.

If you're interested, please say so in this thread. I'll then forward this thing on to them. All you'll have to do is reference the group buy to get the discount.

That is sweet! I've been wanting to get that until my CC has been paid off, but I might just have to bite the bullet and get it at that price! Count me in!

That is a good deal....but isnt Ray Laks a MAJOR sponsor on two other competing boards? Why doesnt he sponser here if he wants to do a group buy? Heck...AcuraZine is WAY better than those places! At least maybe he could be spending money at a site he may actually get a return for?

Rules for a potential Group Buy, before this gets too far: (apologies to Ron A):

It is all right for you to find out how many people will be interested in this. (you've done this)

You should contact the vendor and find out how many people he would need in order to establish prices and specifications. (you've done this)

When you reach that minimum, you can let him know and he would have to contact soopa by email at adam(at)acurazine(dot)com to make arrangements to become a vendor and post in the Sponsored Sales & Group Buys forum.

That would start the ball rolling, and each interested member could visit the Sponsored Sales & Group Buys forum to arrange for purchase and delivery.

Does it come fully painted? If so, I'd be interested.

Because Tim is a good man. I talk to him quite a bit, and he has his reasons.

What parts are included in this kit, or, alternatively, any part number?

I wasn't aware of these rules. Thanks for pointing that out. I also didn't know about the other competing boards as this is the only one I ever visit. If Ray Laks is a sponsor of other boards, can they also be a sponsor of this one?

It's the A Spec Body kit -- front nose underbody spoiler, rear underbody spoiler, and side skirts. All painted to match the factory paint. Everything you need for installation is also included including instructions.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but does the body kit install over the existing front and rear bumpers and side skirts?

I think it installs over the front and rear bumpers but replaces the side skirts. However, I have yet to actually install one, this is just what I think based on what it looks like.

I doubt if it will install over the existing ones, but I am wondering if it will lower the overall body and be more prone to be hit on the ground when going over bumps, etc.

The front lip adds another inch or two to the front of the bumper (making it lower to ground)

side skirts are fully replaced with aspec skirts and I dont think it lowers your car... their the same size just more "aero" (you will be stuck with the old ones)

Back skirt doesn't lower the bumper at all!!! it simply covers the lower bottom portion of the bumper.

side skirts are very easy to install

Back skirt was the hardest...you have to take the bumper off and drill into it and reattach it.

Front lip was fairly simple

Front and back come with adhesive already attached to inside of the bumpers you just have to peel and press them together...of course you have to add the hardware but the adhesive is so that there is no gaps between the actuall bumper and the skirt.

What's a typical charge for a dealer install on this? Same question for the suspension kit, also.

No sweat, that's my job as a mod. This is an awesome deal, I've never seen the A-Spec body kit this inexpensive. I've passed this on to soopa (AZ Admin if you don't know) and he's working it. From the response to this thread, I think a GB would be quite successful, but that's just my . Will threadcrap again when I know more.

I have to work it out with the moderators how to do it. I thought it was as simple as us saying we'll do it, then calling the dealership and telling them we're on the group buy. Apparantly there's more to it than that. As soon as that's figured out, I'll let you know. I'm ready right now also, so sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

Oh...I was not inferring that Tim was anything but a good man. I have personally seen some of his responses to peoples questions, ect and is very knowledgable and intelligent sounding....and frankly I really enjoyed his input and advise. Would like to see him become an active member of OUR community here on AZ....especially with competitive deals like you are descibing here! I cant imagine that any of those other sites would generate as much business as AZ though....no traffic....they are DEAD!

Wow...as I stated earlier and several others have acknowledged....that is one heck of a deal for an A-spec kit!

And yes....I believe they come color coded to your car from the factory, so the dealer would not have to paint it - nor will you when you get it...if it is OEM....and I cant imagine it not being! And yes.....it installs right over your bumpers, ect - but sideskits are swapped. (as previously mentioned already)

As for cost of install....I paid about $125 for the body kit....and about $200 for the suspension switch and 4 wheel alignment set.(did at seperate times) As I recall....the body man said the A-spec kit is listed right in the repair guide all shops have as to hours it should take to install? Not sure if I got a good deal or not (brother is insurance agent and he sents lots of work there as they are a preferred shop?) but he did mention that it was right out of the book and was shocked it was listed.

Anyway....man....if you dont have one of these A-spec body kits installed yet on your TL and want one....GET IN ON THIS DEAL! It is a GREAT price!

I'm waiting on a decision from soopa on how to handle this, so just keep on going and we will let you all know what's happening as soon as we find out.

This is kind of a unique situation and also is a damn good deal so it may require "special handling".
