1. Wrap the tip of a screwdriver in tape.
2. Carefully slide the screwdriver between the metal mounting ring and the headliner (along the longer side near the edge towards the center of the car) until the tip of the screwdriver is resting against the lens locking tab.
3. Rotate the screwdriver handle toward the center of the vehicle while pressing the tip of the screwdriver against the locking tab to release the lens.
4. Pull the lens down.
5. Disconnect the connector from the light.
The light uses a 5W bulb
Here's a scan from the service manual, and below are pictures and notes posted by TL-Rocks! in this thread. These are so good that I am putting them here also since I use this thread as a reference when people post about removing vanity (visor) lights.

I had to jimmy a tool into shape from a pen clip, so I can use it to push the "clip tab" to release. I came to this procedure after breaking one of the "clip tabs" and had to order a replacement.

I used the WLED-5 white LED from superbrightleds.com and covered up the lone LED pointing sideways (when mounted) so that the light won't shine sideways. This resulted in a slightly dimmer light but you don't need much to see. Besides, I always thought the OEM light was too bright, so this works for me.

Use the small flathead screwdriver to pry open the lens just enough to fit the tool into place.

Push inward towards the "clip tab" and pull down to release lens.

Hope this helps!
