got the s2000 wheel in
what would happen if i unplugged the airbag and left it off. would it effect the other airbags in the car? will srs light go on? will anything deploy? asking because i would like to change out the steering wheel first and then figure out the airbag situation later. did a test fit and it fits fine. looks and feels really good. i didn't want to fire up the car without the airbag plugged in and not knowing what would happen. so if anyone could let me know. thanks

i tried contacting the guy who did this swap but he hasn't replied. does anyone else know what i need to do to "trick" the ecu with the different airbag? wiring diagrams? diy? thanks

If the drivers is not hooked up I think only teh SRS will light up. The passanger bag should not deploy.
We want pics when your ready. I haven't even touched my RSX wheel swap yet(4 months now)

I get from the manual that when the SRS light is on the entire system is disabled. I can't confirm for sure though. You can take the dash bulb for the SRS light out for now. Put a piece of tape on it? Other then that I don't know.

update:
FINALLY!!!! It's done and everything works!!!!!
here are the pics.
MODS:
-2006 s2000 steering wheel (hard wired)
-2003 honda odessey radio controls (direct plug in. needs a custom mounting bracket)
-2003 rsx cruise control (hard wired)
it was a pain in the ass. a whole lot of trouble shooting and reseting of the srs, but the pain was well worth it. this wheel feels so much better than stock. i have a new found love for driving my car now. it feels so much sportier than before. enjoy the pics guys. (still trying to see what i can come up with to change the "H" to "A")

Nice job!!! It looks good. Get an A on there and it will look factory fresh.
I've been wanting to try this with a 05 accord coupe wheel. My girl drives one and I like the way it feels way better. But most importantly it has up and DOWN buttons on the radio controls. Don't know why they left that out on ours but its really annoying. I think I want it more for that then the look or feel of the smaller sportier wheel. Wonder if it would work, but from the looks of your work anything is possible...

Basically, the 03 cls is a dual stage airbag so it has four wires (two wires per stage). if you were connectinganother dual stage then it should be fine. the S2k airbag i used was a single stage, so i had to "trick" the brain in thinking there was a second stage. the info i got was to use a 10 ohm resistor to make it think that there is another airbag. it must be different on all cars because when i did that it still triiggered the srs light. to be safe you should take resistance measurments on the second stage of the stock airbag. on mine it read 2.5 ohm when off and 5 ohms when it came on. i used 4-10ohm resistors in series to get it down to 2.5 ohm of resistance and connect it to the second stage. and the first stage i just hooked straight to the S2k bag.
side note: to reset the srs light (i'm a pro at this now )
-find mep plug (under driver side dash, 2pin green plug)
-unplug and attach wire to each.
-touch and hold together and turn key to "on" (do not crank)
-srs light turns off;un touch the two wire-srs light comes on
-touch the two wires-srs light goes off; un touch the wires
-srs light blinks twice
-turn key off and start the car

Good job! I don't really like that wheel though. The sold leather looks out of place. Not to mention the big H. Maybe I'm not used to it. Is it smaller then a stock wheel? It looks about the same size.

m733l- I can't tell from the angle of the pictures. Does the view of your gauge cluster change with the different wheel while siting in the driving position? Basically is it ubstructed at all? Did you have to adjust the height differently than with the stock wheel. I'm 6'2 and can't have the wheel down too low. I think I can do this just found an accord wheel for 100 bucks. Thanks
