Picture attached is the driver side seatbelt mount between the seat and the B-pillar. I noticed it looks like it is installed backwards. I noticed the cushion/fabric pad on the mount is seat-facing and not b-pillar facing. In my experience it never touches the seat, but bumps the b-pllar and makes noise. Can anyone verify if this is correct on their car?

I have the same issue on my car. Do you have one of the earlier VINs? I've complained about a noise on the driver side panel that no one could ever figure out. I think this is it!
I can confirm that the tapping noise I hear when driving over uneven ground is because of the seat belt buckle hitting the seat. It's been annoying since Day 1 and it probably has to do with not having enough padding (so it appears to be facing the right way). I will have to think of a workaround to further dampen the tapping. I've never had this issue in all the previous cars I've ever had and it definitely feels like a design flaw.
the pad is designed to contact the seat when the seatbelt is put on, it shouldn't be contacting the pillar when you are wearing the seatbelt since it wraps over your lap.

It’s not hitting the pillar but my seat! The padding is not enough to muffle the noise.
