My problem specifically applies to hearing Waze directions thru Bluetooth when my iPhone 11 is plugged in and Waze is active. I see the Waze map on the dash along with guidance instructions but all of the voice directions play out of the phone rather than thru Bluetooth.

anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

 

I haven't tried in the new car but in my 2018 TLX you would need to have the music running trough Bluetooth to hear any type of map directions from the iPhone to the car speakers. Otherwise you would need to use carplay to get turn by turn through the speakers.

 

I use CarPlay via lightning cable. Never tried without the cable. Will test to see if I experience the same issue.

 

Go to Waze's settings->Voice & Sound->Play Sound Via and set it to "Play as Bluetooth phone call."
