2.0T K&N Cone Filter x PRL Motorsport x Stock Air Box

So I ordered this to make a KN cone air intake with a 3" dia alu elbow pipe using the stock air box.
I also ordered a PRL Motorsport Silicone Intake Pipe off a Honda Accord 2.0T.

To my surprise the PRL silicone pipe is about 1 inches short. Also the opening are smaller. From airbox is 3.25" and connecting to the PRL pipe it is 3".
So 2 option here:
Option 1 : Wait for PRL come out a right silicon intake pipe for the TLX 2.0t
Option 2: Buy a 3.25" to 3" silicone coupler and add a 3" pipe that goes to existing PRL pipe that I have.

So I have already fabricated the K&N Cone onto the air box. I disconnected the battery and reconnect the battery and start up the car to recalibrate the air flow to match up my K&N.
I went for a test drive and for some reason it feels kind of sluggish. I didn't really pushes the car or did any highway test. I didn't want the car go into limp mode so I was playing safe.
Also when I reset my battery, it was throwing off all the warning lights WHICH I know this will happen but for some reason it did not go away. So I will take out my K&N cone and put
back my stock filter and Monday I will go to my friend shop and see what I can do or fix the K&N cone placement and also have them to clear all the lights with there OBD unit.

Yeah, I sort of recall reaching out to PRL and discussing the Accord 2.0T silicone inlet pipe and was told that it wont fit the TLX though I think it fits the RDX. (correct me if I'm wrong on that last part)

I haven't look into the RDX set up. But ya the Accord PRL pipe will not fit TLX.
So I might buy a 3.25" to 3" coupler and a 3" diameter pipe to go between the PRL and the coupler for the time being.

Yup I saw that too. But not going too crazy on any engine mod.
On the side note GiroDisc is working on a set of front 2 piece rotor for the Type S as well. So I will be getting a set in a few weeks from them

I'll be honest, I may be looking for a brake upgrade before adding any more 'go-fast' mods. Seems like with just a stage 3 tune, I've been able "outrun" my OEM brakes at times....and it's a little scary. Not sure we'll see anything for the 2.0T brakes yet.

Rotora can make them just gonna be pricey. I upgraded my ASpec to a Type S Brembo brake kit.

I don't recall if it was mentioned on the FB Group thread but one of the member reach out to me and asked me if I was interested so I said yes and keep me posted.
So far from what he said there were 3 member who were interested not including me. But he did mention if it reach like 10 member GiroDisc will lower its price.

Nice ..
I am one of those people .. I was told they need at least 5 people before they will make them... and we were told 1200$ just for the fronts So it looks like we just need one more person at least to get the ball rolling.

Nice. I hope if they do like 10 or so at least lower to like $1K or $800 but highly doubt it.

So a few weeks back. I did my own custom intake using my stock air box and gutted with a K&N cone and added a PRL intake silicone tube.
So been a little over 2 weeks of testing. So far I haven’t run into any issue other than having Christmas lights for almost a day.
Reason is because I disconnect the battery and reconnect the battery to let it recalibrate the air flow.

Turbo spool earlier and low end torque have better response. You can really hear the filter at around 2nd to 3rd gear at low end.

My conclusion. Does it increase HP?? To be honest I don’t know. I don’t have access to a dyno.
Did I feel any increase of torque? Yes I do feel the car pulls harder.

FYI PRL tube that I got was off the Honda Accord 2.0. So it was about 1” shorter.
1. It was about 1” shorter. To compensate that, on both end I left a slight gap
between each end so I have enough space to clamp both ends.

2. The diameter on the air box going to the PRL tube is 3.25” where as the
PRL tube diameter goes through the air box is 3”.

To make it fit temporarily, I used a heat gun and expand the opening
on the PRL tube to make it fit onto the air box.

Once PRL comes out a correct kit for the TLX then I will switch that over.
