Just got a new IPhone 12/128GB; the wireless charger is reading Green & Amber; subsequently, NOT charging
Phone has no case, as of yet; have tried turning the charger pad, on & off, several times; as well as restarting the car; no luck
Manual, says charger may be defective; I know it's not the IPhone; tried repositioning the phone; nothing
Any ideas, before going to the idiots at my dealer?

This is a known issue with the iPhone 12 and newer with Mag charging (as far back as Jan but perhaps even older from RDX owners). So far, Acura has no fix.

Believe it or not, Acura In-House Tech's, & Apple, confirm there's a problem; aka, NO FIX YET!
I turned the pad OFF, because it was DISCHARGING my IPhone
Both the Green & Amber lights blink, when you try to charge
The Acura Manual, says it's a defective charger; DUH!
Technology is beautiful, when it works!

1. What's the Latest on iPhone 12 Wireless Charging?
2. There is a June 2021 Technical Service Bulletin that says Acura "is working on the issue."
3. Is the iPhone 11 working OK with the Acura wireless charging pad?
4. Any thoughts (WAG) on iPhone 13 compatibility coming next month?

I tested the wireless feature on the Type-S this morning using a borrowed iPhone 12.

1. I positioned it four different ways.
2. I removed the case.

The iPhone 12 would not wireless charge. BTW: A prior generation charged with no problem.

I have a Type S and my Iphone 12 pro max wireless charging connects about 50% of the time I set it on the charging pad. I don't have a case on it.

Update: yesterday saw the Acura tech at my dealer; STILL NO FIX!

I don't think it's an Acura issue, I think it's an iPhone issue from the vast majority of people who complain. It's like owning a Tesla, your a step below standard with exclusivity lol

FYI, just picked up our 2023 Type-S today and tested my iPhone 12 Pro, son’s iPhone 13 Pro Max, and wife’s iPhone 14 Pro Max on the wireless charger. All 3 began charging! Didn’t seem to be an issue.

But I’m still going to end up using wired connection most of the time for the CarPlay functionality.

A little more info here, I had a 2022 TLX A-Spec loaner for a couple days last week…its wireless charger didn’t work for any of our 3 iPhones. So maybe Acura really did improve it for 2023 since they all work on my ‘23 Type-S. 🤷‍♂️
