The only thing I wish the Type S had more than anything else, was the surround view camera for the front!

Will be looking into this more upon delivery of mine and piercing together the parts for the upgrade (Could be just a dream!). Let’s find out if this can be done! (Could be just a dream!)

you would probably need the engine harness as well.

 

No doubt. Haven’t been able to find an image of the harness assy.

May also need to do some software uploading to have the system recognize the system unless it’s plug and play.

 

nah, if it's the same ECU, the engine harness will take care of it.

if it's not the same ECU, then add that to the list.

so in other words, mighty expensive.

just thought about the ecu..
if you change the ECU, then the type-s WONT operate.
so, the idea is probably dead in the water.

perhaps, the Type-s ECU has the written surround view code on it...? probably not, until someone gets their hands on it and looks at the code.

Even if the Type-S ECU has the surround view code, you still need to find a way to enable it. You can't just add all the cameras and expect them to work like "plug and play".

 

OP, you might be better off with a different car if it's that important to you.

 

We won’t know officially. The surround module may send communication to the infotainment.

Also need the a new wiper stalk with the camera button.
