More or less, one dealer told me that Acura wouldn’t be producing any more TLX Type-S’s until mid-late April. Which is in line with what my preferred dealer told me back in mid February, which was not to expect to have my Type-S until mid-late summer. So it’s looking like most people won’t take delivery until the summer time.

well by the sounds of that it sounds like I should wait until late 2022 so I can get a 2023 TLX-S then...I could stand to wait longer but who's to say Acura actually changes something significant with the 2023 TLX like perhaps fitting digital gauges from the MDX in the TLX across all trim levels, and/or making HUD standard on the Type-S trim level. Then again the 2023 model year could bring nothing at all but yet another increase in the MSRP... so who knows kinda a shot in the dark but one would at least have a newer TLX.

Acura manufactured only 669 TLX in January-that is all trim levels so this shows how bad the chip shortage actually is.

Then there's the Integra to take a hard look at...esp. whenever the Type S info comes out...probably not in time. ???

Exactly how I'm looking at it. Mine is "supposed" to be built middle of Apr. IF not, then I'm looking at one of the first '23's....but, as you said, who knows what will they change...do to it..or not???

Since MY'2021 is the first year of this current generation TLX released in the fall of 2020, the MY'2023 will be a short production run. The MY'2024 will have the MMC update and be released early, in the spring of 2023.
So if you are waiting for the MY'2023 model, might as well wait another 6 months for the MMC updated MY'2024 car.

Based on what they have done with the current RDX and now the new MDX; Acura my offer an ASpec advanced trim and Type S advanced trim for the future TLX models.

If Acura continues to adhere to the normal 5-year model generation cycle, there will be a mid-model-cycle (MMC) update 2.5 years from the launch year.

Yeah the integra is coming and that may take away what supplies Acura has to produce TLX-S cars. Not sure about the integra we'll see if the Type-S Integra is worthwhile but im really focused on just a TLX its the perfect daily Acura for me but then again that may change once test drives open up for the Integra.
be better than the TLX. Not too small, but, not as large on the outside as the TLX. ???

Yeah, I'm thinking IF Acura does it right that Integra just might make a great all around daily driver and fun car to enjoy. I'm hoping that is the case. I think the size would

Dealers can check bld date updates/changes etc, every morning. My Mgr. does. I don't think your date is still good...ask them to check the latest.
Again, not sure, but, my info. says Acura shut down TLX's for March. Not sure If all TLX's, but, Type S, YES.
He checks mine every morning when he arrives at work. Today, still shows approx. 18 Apr.
They are pushing out MDX's, esp. the Type S's. He's got one there as their "show and drive" vehicle for a few weeks...and I think 4 more on the way in. ALL, by
the way are the Type S Advance versions.

The TLX as we know it will soon be dead and so is its Type-S, that's my prediction. I'm sure a few will say that's impossible but just look at what is going on across the industry, particularly with sedans.
They'll still trickle out what they can but then it's going to die in its current form and then Acura will shift its focus to EV.

I thought that the RDX’s A-Spec Advance was a range topper trim in lieu of an actual Type S. Too bad they couldn’t toss in a Type S using the CTR’s motor; would have been the go-to model of the entire brand.

I found it convenient just to hit my cars URL when the spirit moved me & get real time status. The less I have to deal with car dealers or car salesman the happier I am.. Just as happy to do the whole thing over the internet & pick up the car when it comes in..

I placed my order in September (Tiger’s Eye, Orchis, and performance tires) and am still waiting. Latest date given was today, March 6th…getting to the point of either waiting for the 23s or looking elsewhere…..fingers crossed

That puts you out to June at the minimum. If they slip it could go to late summer maybe September. Within a few months you will have a year old car. Why not wait a few months to order a 2023.

that’s what it’s looking like for me, though I had a Type-S owner tell me last night to not wait as I don’t know what may happen and might be forced to pay an increased msrp by waiting longer than this summer, but idk I’m up in the air about it now.

There’s no way to lock in the current price with your dealer?

I placed my order end of January 2022 for a Type S with Perf Tires. The dealership I am working with has said sometime around summer 2022. As of today, no build date. They didn't get any allocations in Feb. They keep hoping for allocations each month but at the rate the world is going right now, they have no idea of when they will get a build allocation.
The dealership has been getting more RDXs and MDXs in than anything else. Maybe I should opt for an RDX....but really would like a RDX Type S if they decide to build one.

Placed my order October 2021, was originally told December delivery, then January, then March, and now still no build date.

I would try to keep an eye on the online inventory and see if any show up around you. That's what I did last summer to get mine. Wasn't getting anywhere with my local dealers.
Just looked it up now and within 250 miles of me: 181 regular TLX models and only 1 Type S. Crazy!
