TLX Type S markup
TLX Type S markup
My local dealer (Los Gatos, CA) has a TLX Type S in the showroom with a $6000+ markup. So the final price is around $64k. Ridiculous. I'm disappointed that they are doing the markup game.
Yea, with everything going on with the car market, you'll be hard pressed to get any deal off sticker. That, added with the fact that this is the launch of a "special edition" model, it's unsurprising that dealers are looking for ADM. They'll make plenty of them ... there's no reason to be paying above sticker for this car.
It’s not just the type S either. I was looking into getting a glc 43 last year. A fully load glc last year was going for about 65-69k discounted. Now I’ve seen preowned glc going for over 73k. The market is ridiculous right now.
There are dealers in Southern California with 3 or 4 Type S sitting there. I'm sure you can haggle one down to MSRP but might have to pay for the accessories they tend to throw on the cars. You know like the fake alarm

One of the dealership in San Diego had a $15k mark up on a Civic Type R... Took the Pilot in for a recall. I came back a few days later to pick it up and saw that they sold the Type R... There's always someone out there willing to over pay lol
Unfortunately, I can almost guarantee the exact same price gouging is going to happen with the Integra Type-S ... at least for the first couple years.
I'm not actually in the market for a TLX, but I am in the market for an MDX. My dealer's lot looks empty as they have so few cars.
I've never bought a car for above invoice price, so to be even entertaining the idea of "bargaining down to MSRP" is ludicrous to me. I guess I just won't be buying a new car anytime soon.

For the record the first thing my sales guy said was "NOBODY is going below MSRP!" and an hour later he came back and offered me a $1,000 discount.

Took a 133 days for my ordered 2022 to come in no ADM slight discount. In CA the same car would cost me at least +$10,000 ADM. Regardless of brand you need to shop nationally for price. Recent history, 3 cars in NC, 2 in Oregon, 2 in Georgia. Surprisingly last two were bought locally in NC from the same dealer.
Ive been to all of them, Id say the Naperville one was the best service experience, but Mcgrath Morton Grove had the type s I wanted and no one else did, plus sales was cool. they got me in and out and they gave me real good money for my 19 Aspec
did u have any issues with ur mirror lights yet? im gonna wait for a tsb to come out. my buddy works at Acura and said its better to wait rather than have them replace same failing bulbs.
I will let them replace it when I finally bring it in but so far only my driver side has acted up. My passenger side seems to be operating normally. The only reason I had them order it is to add on another case for Acura to look into. I don’t really care to go back every time it happens.
Hopefully the fix isn’t a new mirror assembly when Acura releases a TSB. My car is ceramic coated, mirrors included, and I have PPF on the mirrors. Acura would have to eat the cost of both and I’d likely raise a bit of hell to get it done if I wanted it fixed.
I'd love to know what the khaki bros are saying about your car. 4 love the color, 1 thinks white would be nice. Lol
and the black rims with the grey looks right!!
Than you, I took delivery Wednesday, lot to learn . I got a couple of accessory’s, all season mats, Heated Sterring wheel and spare tire . Urban Grey Pearl color is nice looks different when sunny out vs low light .
This is the first car I have felt the need to actually read the manual. Partly because there are so many features, and partly because some things are not intuitive.

That's a good thing!
I've been on this forum many years, as all of the models have evolved, and can say first hand that many of the operational questions asked can be answered with critical thinking time invested in reading / understanding the supplied factory owners manual(s).
I also have this same car, took delivery last Wednesday from dealer stock. They added some bullshit stuff to the car (all season mats, clear edge trim, nitrogen in the tires, some paint coating that was probably not even applied, window tint. From this list the only things I would have added are the clear edge trim. I am not a fan of the all season mats, I prefer the premium carpet mats. I already pulled the all season out and put the stock crappy mats in until I can get the upgraded ones. I didn't want them to tint it either because the dealers never go dark enough. The car was sitting on the lot and is probably one of the last TLX-S that they will have so I bit the bullet. I'm in DFW and there are currently four on lots. Most dealers order white or black so when i had a chance (and probably the last chance) to grab an urban gray, I jumped on it and paid about $2k too much. I offered to finance if they wanted to give me a better price but they didn't care, so I paid with my debit card. I have great credit (high 700's) and the lowest interest rate they offered was 4.99%. The finance guy didn't try to sell me any of the warranties or extended service etc. I tapped my card, called my bank to approve at 8:00 at night and drove home with the car. They were salivating over my 2013 TL SHAWD with 74k on it but I ended up giving it to my son. My guess is they would have only given me $8-$10k for it.
I just prefer the carpet to hard plastic mats. The carpet mats in my 2013 TL are still in great condition and living in DFW there is very little winter weather where I think the plastic might have a leg up. Also, in the trunk items tend to slide all over the place with the plastic. I pulled out my all season and the premium carpeted mats I ordered just got delivered by UPS.

I hear you, but the tracking of dust, grass, sand, etc, in the Atlanta metro is annoying with carpet. The rubber is easy to pull out, shake and wipe and back installed. No endless vacuuming. I just appreciate the easy of maintenence.
