I haven’t had this problem yet, but has anyone tried packing the base of the light bulb with dielectric grease to keep water out? If I run into this issue, I’ll try this method.

It works both way. If moisture does get inside the bulb, the grease will prevent trapped water from draining out.

Ok Y'all!

Now my passenger side is flickering tonight. For sure it was the high pressure washing that I had this morning. The driver side wasn't working after drying my car. Then to tonight passenger side started to flickering.
Screw it! I just put black tape over both the driver and passenger side. Since I have the Welcoming Light on the side skirts are working, I happy with that.
I don't wanna deal with the dealership since this is a low priority issue. Case closed....

I've owned my '21 TLX Aspec 3 days, it rained yesterday and the drivers side no longer works.

1 month in and both lights are holding strong. Survived a 4 hour drive in the rain and when I washed it. Figure they'll go out sooner or later based on what everyone else is experiencing, but fingers crossed!

Had both of my sideview mirror replaced in June. Lights were working fine for a few. Just yesterday my passenger side puddle stopped working again. Definitely not water related as I haven't washed in 3 weeks and it just stopped working. I know bad owner for not washer her sooner lol. Been caught up with work. But this will be my 3rd time bringing it for the same issue smh. I know it's a very minor issue but when you pay for something it should be working at a 100%. Back to the dealer I go.

Was it left out in the rain?

She sits in my driveway, so probably but rain or shine it shouldn't be going out. If anything I think it might be a bulb issue more then anything.

My understanding is that it's the whole side mirror assembly that's at fault. That's why it could be a car wash or just the rain causing the outage.

well thats a bummer if its the whole assembly causing the problem seems like engineering needs to get it together. Yes I know it's not that simple but maybe it's my car causing the issue. Idk I would think there would be alot more people complaining about it..

Are the side mirrors power folding type ? Maybe the wire ribbon can't withstand the stress of being folded too many times.

You can fold them in manual but they are not auto folding mirrors

Auto-Folding Mirrors

The side mirrors on my Type-S do auto-fold.

Got my A-Spec last month and unfortunately I’m on the same boat…side mirror lights worked fine during the 1st week, then suddenly inop. Only the map lights turn on now when approaching the car. I’ll see what the dealership finds out when I bring it in for service next week as the resolutions seem to vary.

I don't think the resolution varies. They fix it but it happens again because there is still no permanent fix!

Agree. Highly likely that they just keep putting in the same part as the original, until a revised replacement part is ready which could take months to happen.

And just like that the driver side puddle light started working again. It’s been dry here but I have taken it through the wash. I’ve talked to the dealer but didn’t want to go through the headache. Especially if there’s no permanent solution yet.

Welp…dealer said the bulbs were the culprit. They had to s/o since their out of stock, oh 🐳 we’ll see how long the replacements will hold up til there’s a permanent fix

I have the 21 tlx type s and mine stopped working as well. I've only had the car for about a month. My auto fold was turned on when I got the car but I did hand wash it a couple times no high pressure though.

Hopefully dealership will be helpful in my area.

My dealership ordered another puddle light. He acknowledged that it’ll happen again but they want to have as many cases as possible so he recommended I have the work done.

Dealerships will get paid by the factory for warranty services, even though they are not as lucrative as customer paid repair works.

During this hard time, every cent counts.

I know this.

however, the service advisor is a friend of mine and he said every repair counts with things like this. Even if the dealership benefits he isn’t wrong. The more cases known to Acura the higher likelihood we see a fix.

Right, this is definitely a design defect that should result in a recall.

Both of mine went out within 2 weeks of getting the car. Passenger side light sometimes blinks before going out. Waiting for parts and dealer replacement. I suspect this is not over. Sad.

Parts were ordered by the dealership but they said they’re back ordered and couldn’t give me a date. It’s going on a month now.

Everything seems to be on back order these days. Side mirror puddle lights, spare tire kit, . . . . .

I have one out now-I think this is a design defect and Acura has to figure out how to rectify it. Have read of others who get a replacement and lose the light again shortly thereafter.

An update: After both puddle lights failed to work the dealer replaced both mirror assemblies It took almost 8 weeks to get the parts. The installation is complete and both lights are currently working. We'll see what happens. Dealer parts department said each mirror lists for $600+. Wow!
