Not a big issue but when I used to unlock/walk next to my car the lights on the side mirrors would come on. Now they don’t turn on at all. Any idea on how to toggle this feature.

 

They are probably honestly broken and need to be replaced. Happened to mine too. They put new lights in and so far they are working.

 

Same here.....I will see about getting them replaced on my first service visit.

 

I would check with the dealer...unless it coincided somehow with an OTA update...

 

it’s probably not an update. They didn’t mention one when they fixed mine last week, and told me they had to replace the lights themselves.

 

This legit just got this car last month lol 😂 can’t be broken. I’ll have them look at it my next service day.

probably every time i park if I remember too. But usually just the street side. 🤔 🤔

 

not that I’m aware of sadly. I wish they stayed on while reversing to give the camera light when it’s dark out for the mirror cameras.

 

So both lights are out? Too much coincidence not to be software-related.

 

Can you set your mirrors to fold when the car is locked?

 

that's exactly what happened to mine. They both just randomly stopped working one night. I don't think it is software because I had the welcome lights installed and they would still go on and are essentially linked together.

Yes, it is in vehicle settings . There is also a button that can be pushed to fold them at any point.

 

Mine work great, as advertised!

 

Only the Advance trim gets the "magic mirrors." nycez is stuck like me manually folding the mirrors...when we remember.

yeah I got ASpec model. So the folding mirrors is a manual labor for me hehe. But too ironic that both light just stopped working.

 

Got an Aspec model last month and my driver side mirror light randomly stopped working over the past few days. The light will flicker at first, but doesn't turn on.

 

Probably won't be long before a TSB about this shows up.

Hopefully we all knew what we were getting into buying into the first MY of a new gen.

the ASpec loaner that I was in had 700 miles on it and they weren’t working at all LOL

 

Mine went out.

 

Our 2017 passenger puddle lamp.went out about a year ago and its not covered under warranty. Looks like Acura may have selected a bad batch of bulbs or bad supplier. I havnt had it replaced just yet, but bulb is $90 apparently.

 

I have had my Puddle Lights on the mirrors on my 2018 TLX ASpec Elite replaced on 3 occasions, under warranty, in just under three years, which is the only issue I have had with the car. This most recent time, the service tech noted that the light is seated in such a way that water collects around the base of the bulb and likely shorts it out. To address this apparent design flaw, they put some grease in that area to protect the bulb. I am a frequent car washer, so there is likely a correlation between light issues and washing, given this issue. I will now avoid spraying the front of the mirror directly to also help prevent a reoccurence. The bulbs are LEDS and shouldn't be the problem.

 

Driver door puddle light under mirror on Type S no longer works. 6 days of ownership.

I'm a victim as well. My driver side light has started to flicker. Right after I brought it in for an oil change of course... 2021 TLX A-Spec

 

I too recently got my TLX A SPEC in the middle of June, a few days later it was at the dealer because of these same lights. Two days out both sides were out again, took it back to the dealer and it will be four weeks this upcoming Monday with a loaner. Apparently lights/mirrors were ordered from Japan. Putting miles on the loaner!

 

The Service said it will be a few weeks at least, I had the service agent call parts, will be here Monday. Service manager said they’d have to replace the entire mirror.

I asked if I could buy the carbon fiber inesrts for the doors since they’re already taking the panel off, was told the panel will not be fully removed for this fix. Only top corner will be pulled back to make room for connecting the harness…

 

Thanks for the info but this is exactly what I was afraid of. Last thing I want to do is go back and forth for temporary fixes. Considering it’s a puddle light it’s not the biggest deal that it’s not working. However, considered the price paid for the car it should be remedied with a permanent fix.

Has anyone gotten a permanent fix to this issue from the dealer yet?

 

If you do a search, I also made a post about the lights…specifically how do you actually replace them. No one really answered the question fully but I am guessing somehow the mirror glass comes off….My dealer ordered the lights….SIX WEEKS AGO….still on back order. But at this point, I’m going to wait because my guess is, if we are all having this problem, and many have posted that the “fix” only lasted a few days….then I’m going to wait and not be a test subject. My only gripe about the car, otherwise it’s perfect!

 

I know it’s only been a week and some change. Any updates for you? Currently my driver side puddle light is out (21 tlx)

The passenger side was flickering and the deriver side didn't work at all on my new ASpec. Brought into the dealer and they are ordering new lights. No happy with Acura service at all.

I know this is not the place but my rear passenger door didn't sit flush with the rear fender. Noticed this when I got the car home right after delivery. Service writer said it can't be fixed.

 

That stinks.

You couldn't even blame that on a first MY of a new gen problem. Fit and finish impacts any given year. This is one of the reasons I prefer not to take delivery of a car at night.

Will it help if your adjust the height of the rubber bumpers located at the inside of the door ?

 

I remember the hood on my 2019 TLX ASPEC wasn’t flush on one side so the service manager adjusted that to fix the issue.

The culprit: High Pressure Washer

I suspected that using high pressure washer directly onto the mirror might be the cause of having water seeping into the some openings.
I never had any issues while washing my car with a regular garden hose nozzle.
So far my passenger side and my welcoming lights on the side skirt are working. When I call the dealer this week, I will bring it up to them
as to what causes the puddle light not working and I'll bring this up to my friend at Honda HQ who is the engineer there.

 

My driver side puddle light went out after the first car wash - the passenger side still works. I'm going to wait a bit before talking it in to see if the passenger side goes out as I suspect it will.
