Pre-order cost?

Pre-Order sounds like Build-to-Order. Around October 1, you can test-drive the TLX and buy one exactly the way you want it. The online Builder should be online by then also (with all options, etc.). In about 4-6 weeks, you get your new TLX .
The Deposit to Reserve one of the cars THEY ordered for the lot, is normally $500-$1000 around here. Apparently, they are "in high demand like any all-new Acura vehicle" ... but personally, I kinda doubt that. If they are, it depends on your location and the number of local Acura dealers in your city. I have one. Some cities apparently have 10 or more.
Good question though. I too would be interested to hear what others post here.

I had to put down $1,000 at my local dealer in Salt Lake. This was before pricing and features were announced. Now that it’s going into $50,000 and all the tech is stripped at I’m probably pulling my deposit. I expected Acura to give us the advanced features with the type s for mid 50’s. Since we are essentially getting the tech package with no way to add other options and charging an extra $15,000 I think I’ll wait until none of them sell and get it cheaper. Or Acura to realize and pull their heads out and offer more tech on the type S. Also I told them I wanted black with red interior and now I’m thinking modern steel with red interior.

I may be wrong but also believe the 16-way seats are included on the Type-S as well (I hope). Overall packaging gripes aside, I still find it comical that the 'sporty' A-Spec doesn't get the adaptive dampers that would actually give it a more credible claim to be the sportier model over the Standard and Tech, instead it's just all appearance. I guess on the flip-side they needed to differentiate from the Advance level.

FWIWON. A number of brands delete the fog lights on the performance models & use the openings for air intake. BMW runs on oil cooler on one side & an additional coolant radiator on the other.

On the Audi-Q5e, the auto All-Weather Headlights System handles things like Fog, etc.
