So, I ended up picking up a Type S this afternoon and it wasn't planned! We originally went to Acura because I was interested in moving out of my 21' RDX Aspec and into a 23' TLX Aspec. I test-drove a 23' TLX Aspec and liked it, but on the way in from the test drive my wife spotted a modern steel gray TYPE S. She commented about how sporty and nice looking it was. So, I immediately was like yeah, they're sweet, but the quotes I had gotten online were outrageous for it. She then said, "You should drive it." I kind of balked, because I knew I'd like it better than the Aspec model. Yeah, well, I drove it and that was the end of deciding which vehicle I wanted! This thing is a beast, a totally different car compared to the Aspec model!
I was able to get what I wanted for my RDX and managed a little to get some rebates/incentives and wiggle some $ off the Type S. Nonetheless, I am pretty stoked! I'm scheduling my tint appointment as we speak!
I did end up leasing it, so I am not too worried about hammering it with only 20 miles on it! I had to test it out

I have a couple of questions regarding the TLX.
Is the wireless charger in the car any good? Maybe it’s me, but I swear it takes forever to charge my iPhone 14 Pro.
Is anyone using a wireless adapter for CarPlay? If so, any recommendations?
I look forward to really getting familiar with this car! All I’ve got to say is that if I definitely think it’s one of the best vehicles that you’re going to find in it’s price range!
The Type S doesn't have a front camera or surround view camera that I'm not aware of correct? I've got to get used to parking it going forward. It's longer then it seems inside the car.
Correct on the camera and surround view. The front sensors are pretty good at helping with distance.

I love this car! I ended up narrowing it down to the G70 3.3T and this TLX Type S. I drove them back to back and ended up liking the Type S more overall. The G70 is quicker from a dig, but I really think the Type S is the better all around package in my opinion..

100% agreed! if you have time, please give us a detailed comparison of your G70 vs TYPE S. TYPE S is a beast and very underrated in my opinion but those who have driven and experienced it, appreciate this beautiful beast

Plugging it in destroys the whole point of a wireless charging pad! The exclusion of wireless CP/AA in this gen TLX makes the pad entirely worthless other than a place to rest the phone (depending on the SAR rating, I've always been queasy about any of my body parts resting anywhere close to the phone)!
Honestly, I think Acura included this to check off a box against the competition.
I don't need to, but how the hell do you add coolant to the reservoir tank? It looks like that tank is located under a brace or something. Any thoughts?
Looking at the TLX Owner's Manual, it looks like there's a cover with six push-pins that need to be removed to access the coolant overflow as well as your brake fluid reservoir. Honda/Acura are generally very good at making things easily serviceable, unlike the Germans. It may seem like a PITA compared to it being easily accessible right there, but those push-pins are really easy to work with and it doesn't seem bad at all to remove. Honestly, how often are you going to need to access anything under there anywho?

Took the Type S out for a spirited drive a little bit ago. DAMN does it get hot under that hood! I can definitely see why there is so much heat shielding!

probably because of the twin scroll but dont quote me on it. I think the Type S is around 2500-3k. not sure about the 4 bangers
The Type S is the better choice as the extra power makes the car feel more in control and enjoyable.

How is the Type S in the snow? Have you had any issues with getting stuck and what not? My RDX was great, but with the TLX being much lower, I'm wondering if it will still be just as good.

I can promise you, it will be blast. My 4th Gen TL is Canadian A-SPEC, and it's low. I never had any issue, even though the AWD is from the previous gen and Acura made it better now. It wouldn't be wrong to say it's the best in the business with some good winter tires. I have Micheline tires and they are good.

Im awaiting the day my girlfriends pregnant. We’re kinda trying so we shall see. I’m not sure how well the TLX is going to work out. An RDX may be in the cards sooner rather than later. At least for her. Not sure yet if we will need two.

I've always found an SUV easier to load up kids, no matter how young. I hit my head a couple of times in the TLX after buckling the kid as I understimated how low the car was. SUVs are just way more family friendly!
Maybe the RDX Type S will be out by the time you need one! LOL!

My TLX is paid off with 14K miles on it currently. It’ll be a good trade in when time. I do like the RDX so I can’t wait to see the new gen.
I loved my 21' RDX Aspec, but it was time for a change. I had been looking to get into a sedan next vehicle. The TLX was always appealing to me and even more so after driving the Type S! I did think about holding-off for a RDX Type S, but I didn't really want an SUV again.
I don't have kids and don't plan on doing so. So, that point is moot. However, if I did have kids, I most likely wouldn't be driving a Type S.
I'm still excited to see what the RDX Type S will be like though!
