Insurance rates - Type S!

Hey all,

For those of you that own a Type S, what do you pay monthly for insurance (if you wouldn't mind sharing)? Also, who is your insurance provider? I currently have State Farm. We have 2 vehicles insured with them and our homeowner's insurance. My monthly full coverage with a $250 deductible is $74 on the Type S. This is with no tickets on our records. However, I lose track of my speed relatively easily in the Type S!

The 21' RDX Aspec that I owned prior to the Type S had the same insurance and deductible and I was paying $51/month.

Which insurance providers do you all have? I've heard that Allstate is a nightmare, especially for body shops. I had American Family previously, which was good, but they're so much more expensive.

I've thought about shopping progressive, etc., but I'd love to get some feedback on how they are when you need them from someone that is or has used them.

Thanks all!

So, I was reading it wrong. I am paying $82/month for my 2023 Type S. Still, I don’t think that’s too bad.

$153 a month is pretty high! Do you have any tickets, accidents on your record? Are you married?

I am 41, married, no tickets/accidents…(knock on wood).

nope, 37 married no tix or accidents on the record in the past decade I'd say. It is a commercial policy so that may be the reason why I'm a lot higher.

Comparing numbers without the location in not a good comparison, as insurance rates here in Philly are through the roof while using the same data in Central PA (for example) is much cheaper.

I am located in Southeastern, Wisconsin. As another member stated, rates do vary greatly by region.

Off the top of my head, I pay $115 a month here in Southern California. I’m 38 and have no accidente or tickets on record. Insurance is through Costco (Connect).

We pay $208 per month (actually pay $624 quarterly) for coverage on a 2000 S2000, a 2022 TLX Type-S and a 2023 MDX Type-S here in SoCal. High deductible and high coverage amounts. Own, not leased. No kids. Geico with the Berkshire shareholder discount.

This is like asking what interest rate did you get...
Literally every person is different in the eyes of insurance. Age, sex, how long you've had a license, how long you've been with that company, if you have one or more vehicles, if you had lapsed insurance before, if you got tickets before, type of tickets, geographical location, married or not, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

We’re paying about $380 per month for a 2021 Acura TLX Type S and 2018 Kia Soul. It just went up by $60 per month. I’m 35 and my girlfriend is 30 with no tickets. The only claims we’ve had to make in the last two years are 3 glass replacements which obviously isn’t our fault and I was rear ended 9 days after buying my car by an uninsured drunk.

It’s expensive here despite also have home owners insurance through Nationwide. I would look around but I can’t seem to find a provider that offers OEM Guarantee except Nationwide but I doubt it would save me much. It already went up when I moved to a new town.

Edit: I should add that the raise was due to inflation. I live in Lockport, IL which isn’t cheap.

Married, 3 cars, no kids. Been with Progressive for 2 decades, have home and cars insured with them. For 3 cars, two on liability only, and the Type-S will 1k deductible, its ~$90/month
EDIT: I have a long rap sheet of speeding, wife is pretty clean with her driving. We are in the Mid-west.

I checked out Costco Insurance but it wasn't much of a difference. I'll definitely be shopping around. On top of the new car finance, i've now got a premium on my insurance. Cost of owning a new car X.x
