I just got a quote on the acura and i almost fainted. geico wanted $14,000 a year for the cl!!! progressive $12,000 i didnt even bother looking how much for the type S. Granted i live in brooklyn and im only 24 but jesus that's half the price of the car, and i've never had a accident or even a ticket. kemper direct wasnt as bad, 7,500 for the cl and 9,000 for the type s. Anybody in new york know of a cheap insurance company?? thanks

I am 20 years old, male, 2 speeding tickets (as they like to say), no other violations, no accident claims, and pay $4000 every 6 months. Thats for 2 cars, a '98 M3 and a '93 Camry LE.

I think the CLS is not that bad of a price if you can it for about $7000/year and if less, thats great!

Eightyeight, you may want to double check that. There is NO WAY that an insurance company could charge you that much for insurance. I mean, come on, that's as much for a new car! If you're driving record is that bad to warrant a $14,000 premium, then I don't think you would even be insurable.

double, triple checked it already. Geico wants about 7000 every 6 months. I thought maybe there site was making a mistake so i got a quote from progressive and they wanted a little over 12,000 a year. a couple of other companies came up with around the same price. Granted its full insurance in one of the highest car theft areas, i never had insurance, im under 25. and those quotes were for the cl, not even the cl s, wich will probalby be a couple thousand more.

my aunt sells insurance, she got me the progressive quote of $12,000 a year. i couldnt believe it either at first, but i have come to accept thats just how much its gonna cost me. at the minimum, $8,000 a year with some no-name insurance company. just better hope i dont have to one day collect from them, that should be fun.

 

Try www.esurance.com I paid $3600yr when I first got the car had one no fault but they still uped my insurance to $4000yr so I canceled and went to esurance.com. Now I pay $1000 every 6 month's.

I'm 23yo, live on Long Island, 2 tickets (2 & 3 years old respectively) and when I got the CL-S I went on my own insurance. Geico turned out to be the cheapest at $1400/6 mo for $2800/year. (Insurance under my parent's policy would have cost me more!!) This is with a $1000K deductible.

I think $14K/yr in Brooklyn is for Bed-Sty

is telling you the truth. In Ny, we have the highest insurance rates in the country. And people with 1000 dollar a year insurance rates...look where you live...nice safe areas. You should consider yourselves lucky ass hell, as I pay about 8 grand for my CLS.
My friend with his M5 pays 18 grand a year in NYC. And eightyeight...may i sugggest you do not go with GEICO...for one reason (and companys like geico in general)....GEICO does not insure drivers under 25...wait..dont flame me yet...they "do"
but...they will make you pay. They accomplish this by telling you a quote (in your case 14 grand) that you will never pay, and go elsewhere...thats what i mean they dont insure young drivers. Find another company...GEICO is the worst for young drivers.

I was 22 when I got my CL Type S and they insured me no problem. I'm paying $2800/year - cheaper than anyone else I could find, including being under my parent's policy.

Beats me how much/if my insurance will go down when I get to 25 - but that's a year and a half away.

all insurance companies in ny will screw you until u turn 30 or get married. find a diff address and call statefarm or allstate. they're reasonable and are reputable co's when it comes time for a claim.

Actually, San Fran is cheaper than Southern Cal. I moved back to Santa Monica from SF last year and my insurace went up around 8%. I just got an quote from State Farm on a 2001 CL-S for $1100 per year, to add it to my policy (multi-car discount is about 15%). I'm 31 with no tickets in 3 years and have been with State Farm for over 6 years, so I get their "loyalty discount", among others.

 

Yes I was insured at 15, I lived in SOuth Carolina and back when I got my restricted license (6am to 6pm) you only had to be 15(circa 1992). My insurance was $250 every six months( I had a 1977 chevette)
